I'm completely new to the pc world. I come from Xbox, but I want to get into pc because there are more options in gaming and I want a system where I can game (Forza, battlefield, total war, R6) and work on music, all in one. Right now I'm willing to pay around 1,000. Mostly looking for something to slowly upgrade when I learn everything there is to know. In this crazy market should I get a prebuilt pc (and which one) or a custom-built pc without the GPU and just wait on that?

Can you wait a year or two? If not, then buy pre-built—dunno which one.

What currency, what country are you in?

Re the shortage, I keep this thread updated with news…

Thanks for the reply. US dollars. Only got two years left in college so got me thinking of doing something mediocre setup that can be temporary and can be upgraded later.
