"Members" tab filled with Guest... too many?

I was poking around the forum and found myself in the Members tab. There were pages upon pages of "Guest" viewing the forums, and even going to page 10 or so showed it was only within minutes ago. Is there just a massive amount of bots reading the forum or what?

Edit: Specifically in the "current visitors" menu.

I would guess it's a mix of actual guests, spam bots and web crawlers.

Probably the first two as there is a tab for robots which is where the known search engine crawlers would show. I guess it could be AI as well.

Forum software set up in such a way many of the guests never get a chance to see their posts hit the forums. 5 years ago it was different and every post hit forum... that was ridiculous and not user friendly as no one would stick around on a forum where every post was spam.
Its much better now. (though it was fun to clean up)
