Question Last of us Crashing!

I am very new here, so I apologize if this is not a new discussion but I am hoping to gain some guidance or insight. I purchased Last of Us yesterday (Steam Card) and uploaded everything to begin game play. It started out fine but crashed after the first main scene. After rebooting, it claimed that the driver was out of date (all systems are up to date and there is a plenty of memory). When I reached out to steam for support they said I have had too much game play to request a refund but literally the time it has been on has been loading and reloading time. Steam said to contact the retailer for refund and retailer said to contact stream.

Has anybody had this occur; have you found any resolve? I know $60 is not a lot to some but I was looking forward to playing the game and now there seems to be no options.

Monitor model & Hz;
Resolution you're running at;
What graphic settings level have you enabled?

Are all drivers & BIOS up to date?

Have you tried the simple step of uninstalling and reinstalling the game?

i'm playing on an 8700K, GTX 1080, and 16GB RAM, with stock clocks, at 1080p on ALL High settings.
