Just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting you should stay with what you had - rather than you could get much better than the 2nd hand thing you've bought for not too much more cash.
Especially when you consider you're going to be tipping money into it, buying an SSD and a GPU.
Why spend ~$500+ on an out of date spec, plus $100 on an SSD, + $150-250 on a new GPu when you could get a brand new system of better performance for the same kind of price, that actually comes with a warranty too.
