Just Cause 3 Discussion Thread....

Just Cause 3 was chosen as our "let's play" game. If you want to play and discuss that here, we'd love to have you.

@Pifanjr already made a post in another thread that I'll copy here (I've been sick again for the last couple of days and not gotten anything done. Apologies if it appeared I was ignoring the "let's play" thread).

I stayed up way too late playing Just Cause 3 yesterday. You go from liberating 1-2 places, then doing 1-2 challenges, then maybe doing a story mission, then doing it all over again. It's a very addicting gameplay loop because each thing only takes maybe 15 minutes tops, so it's very easy to do "just one more thing".

I really like the parachute and wingsuit with the grappling hook. It's always nice when an open world game gives you a way to quickly get around the world, even if I end up faceplanting every time I try to use the wingsuit.

While blowing stuff up is always fun, I do feel like it's lacking something. The targets are just that, big red static targets, and your arsenal is fairly limited. It's not like Mercenaries 2 where you get a lot of options to wreak havoc. Meanwhile, there are too many enemies and no stealth mechanics, so your best bet is to fly in, throw some explosives around and fly away again. It's not like Far Cry where you can scout out an outpost and figure out a plan of attack.

I played for a little bit and enjoyed it. I've been in the mood for mindless mayhem. I didn't play that long because I'm having problems with Crosshair and need to find a solution so I can see where I'm shooting.

I did die once when I was looking at something else and crashed my helicopter. Right now I'm really enjoying the grappling hook. Will play some more in a few minutes as soon as I figure out how to fix Crosshair.

I mentioned to one of my friends that I started playing Just Cause 3 and then beat one of his records while on call with him, which prompted him to download the game.

He said the story is pretty decent, but I've skipped every single cutscene so far.

I've died a couple of times now, mostly from accidentally exploding my own vehicle. Only once did I actually get killed by an enemy and it was when I dove right in the middle of an enemy base with three choppers showing up.
