Question Looking for the name of an old game where you play an Inquisitor

The game I am thinking of you played as an inquisitor. Or you became an inquisitor at some point in the game. Somewhere you where bestowed inquisitor status to assist the people of the land or something like that. (Nope not DA - inquisition)

I remember walking in a sandy almost desert area and there were scorpions on your way down (As per the camera since the view changed to looking at your character from the front and you moving downwards.

There was like concrete blocks to the left and right where you could hide from the scorpions and you had to meet someone or find someone further down the area.

Graphics quality I would say roughly about Dragon age origins type graphics (Maybe older) and if I remember correctly the mapping system was a hassle.

Any ideas?

Nope not Risen, Finished 1,2 and 3 a few months ago. Not one of them.

I don't think there were scenes in Inquisitor with sandy desert areas that have scorpions. But I think it is the closest to the game the original poster is searching for.

Had a look, this game does not even look remotely familiar.

I am trying to think of games where I encountered scorpions. Games like Titan quest and Dawn of Magic comes to mind, but not sure if there was a part playing an inquisitor finding information for a town or something.

I am thinking this might have been when I started searching for DA-inquisition information and ended up with that game. it had to have run on a very old PC. so, I would guestimate a time frame of maybe year 2000 ish.

Could even have been something like Ultima ascension or Darksiders where the inquisition was just a "section" of the game and not part of the greater story line.

I will stamp it as an Un-resolved. Was just something I thought of and remember that specific part to be a very tedious point in the game.

not this one, its a boss, but you do meet them in the lower right corner of the desert area (from memory)

Only videos online are the boss fight, but you do meet smaller ones earlier in desert from memory - its been 11 years since I last played it

Might very well have been sacred 2...........keep in mind I am recalling a "part" of a game.

Think by now everyone has noticed I am extremely bad with names. In general, takes me ages to remember a character's name in a game.

So, think you might be right on sacred 2 since I did put in a lot of hours into it years ago. Think when I am done with Pathfinder and all it's DLC's (Yes went and bought all the DLC's as well) I will go revisit Sacred 2.

Honestly, I only remember a few things about sacred 2, such as running out a "camp" heading north on a small sandy road on something that looked like an island, and then obviously the Sacred song with the guitar.

• hidden assassins who appear out of a cloud of dust
• undead
• spiders

about 8 minutes into video.

Fairly sure about the bottom left corner of the desert map you meet bigger mutant Scorpions. Champions can be painful as they use poison.

I played it for 3 years. Every class started differently. So the beach one is likely a class I didn't play as I don't recall it. Seraphim starts in chapel and the Shadow Warrior starts in a crypt. I do recall one started on an island or beach... I mainly played two classes. The Robot is strange. Or was... I need to try them all again.

In Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, the starting areas depend on the character's race and the chosen campaign path (Light or Shadow). Each race has a specific starting zone, and the Light and Shadow paths lead to different introductory quests and areas.

Inquisitor can't choose light path, from memory.

• High Elf: Starts in Tyr Lysia, the elf land.
• Dryad: Starts in Dyr-Laigh, the dryad land.
• Inquisitor: Starts in Artamark, the human land.
• Shadow Warrior: Starts in Artamark, the human land.
• Temple Guardian: Starts in Artamark, the human land.
• Seraphim: Starts in Seraphyria, the Seraphim land.
• Warrior: Starts in Artamark, the human land.
• Shadow魔: Starts in Artamark, the human land

Dryad starts on a beach, or island chain from memory.

I have forgotten so much, the starting god choices... the different paths actually dictate the route through game. Wish I had written some tips down for myself years ago, I will be relearning again.

Unless they have a hidden high res pack, I can't see requirements being that high. Video I have seen wasn't impressive, I thought I was watching sacred 1 at first. Until I saw the mounts.

Interesting thing you are touching on here. I have read/heard that most players prefer no fog. I prefer fog since it gives me a good indication as to what I have explored already and where I still need to explore. What is your personal view on this? Maybe I am missing something, but I seem to be on the minority side of the spectrum.

I will see what the minimum requirements are. Lately even games with really crappy graphics require brand new machines. In the "old days" they used to load just a specific area at a time as opposed to now they try and load the whole game all at once. Noticed that on Pathfinder. Where loot can be seen (Using TAB) at a very far distance and just the size of a pixel. But it is still loaded even though you are very far from it. (Saw this in Lost temple area specifically).

The original is still an option for me if the new version is a killer on specs. Will be the first time running sacred 2 on Maxed out graphics settings anyway so will look like a new game to me (LMAO)

fog of warm isn't what I was referring to. I don't mind that. Given there was a bonus given for the more you do explore, I wasn't trying to reduce that... there are 650 quests in game, most require you to explore just to find them. Same with the bonus bosses and most of the dragons

No, I mean the draw distance. The entire game was enshrouded in a fog as it couldn't draw much further with the hardware available at time. Nice to be able to remove that.

THQ also remade this, its GPU requirements aren't that high
