I owned a PS5, series X, a gaming laptop, and a gaming desktop, but here's my dilemma...

my ps5 and series x are both connected to a 40inch 4K TV

my gaming desktop has a 4070 ti connected to a gaming monitor

and yet...

I play most of the time in my gaming laptop, I mean.. its just an Acer Nitro 5 with a 4060, so not even that strong but for some reason

80% of the time, I game on that little guy

is something wrong with me?

Well, as someone who would 10000% recommend playing on a PC over a console, there is nothing wrong with you lol. I own a bunch of consoles i never use too. Were gamers but PC gaming is the best way to do it regardless if its a laptop, desktop or handheld

oh shoot... I forgot about my switch lite

let me redo the percentage here

so 60 % on the laptop
30% on the switch lite
10% on the rest

and that's just bad for me because I spend money on the gaming desktop and consoles and wont even use them :(

Yes, something is wrong with you. You need to connect all that to - at minimum - a 9.2 object-based audio capable AVR or A/V processor with external amplification. Nothing is scarier than Mr. X's footsteps echoing around the mansion above you and all around you, and a couple of subs rattling the walls and pounding your chest when you play RE2 in Dolby Atmos with the lights off.

Or... uhh... on the other hand, maybe something is wrong with me.

well that sounds actually nice, but I do have a nice headset and the nahimic audio is enable on it so the surround sound is amazing

you know what... I think it was definitely just a bad decision on my part, an impulse buying if I may say

Well, I do 100 percent of my gaming on a laptop, but I already knew I have serious problems.

That's just my way of saying there's nothing wrong with you for playing on the laptop.

And while I do have 2 of the setups I mentioned above (one for home theater, the other for my gaming setup in my office that my desktop is connected to), and the desktop is also connected to a 50" OLED TV and the 49" ultrawide Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 that I'll switch back & forth on depending on the game, I have absolutely no complaints playing on my gaming laptop roughly 50% of the time. The convenience is just awesome! I have a lap desk with a slide-out mouse tray, and I just plop down on the couch with headphones and have fun. The wife likes it too, because I can hang in the living room with her while she watches her shows, in which case I just use plain ol' open ear stereo headphones so that I can still chat with her. And ya know, I kinda like being around her anyway.

this totally make perfect sense, and I can totally relate the wife part :)

I also have this for couch gaming, but I don't use it as much as I prefer the laptop so that I don't have to stream AAA games on the lesser-capable hand-held.

The augmented reality (AR) glasses connected to the handheld projects the equivalent of a 200" 2D screen (from an assumed 10' viewing distance I believe). I would probably use this more if the hand-held were more capable as I don't have to wear my prescription lenses and can see everything just fine. Plus my wife also rags on me when I wear them and I have to be weary of her snapping a photo and posting it on social media.

So yes, we all have problems. :D

It also works with a laptop, but I can't use it that way because the screen moves with you when you turn your head, and it makes me dizzy when playing with kb/mouse, which I refuse to play with a controller if I'm on my laptop and would rather just use the built-in display.

Which AR glasses do you have?

And that's exactly why I play on a laptop. So I can hang with the family (now just the wife) while I play. Except I use IEMs for sound and just keep one of them out of my ear. It drives me nuts trying to hear through headphones or to try to keep one side propped up on my ear.

Silly me didn't include links (fixed in original post). They are the XReal Air, 1st gen. I went with those as they were the only ones at the time that supported 120Hz at 1080.

I have IEMs as well, but I only like them for music. They're actually good phones, but I can't do the single ear thing. My over ear (I might be using the wrong term) are just run of the mill bluetooth cheapos from Amazon. They're the small "classic" headphone design that used to come with a Walkman back in the day, so they don't cover a large area of the ear.
