I need some input from the real pros...

I have a 22" Samsung SyncMaster monitor (2ms response time) that is starting to get very dark across the top of the screen.
I'm wanting to replace it with something between 25 and 27 inches (that's all I have room for). I'm looking for a fast, good
monitor. I can't afford more than about $700 dollars, so I'm asking the 'real' experts for some suggestions/advice. No
company responses please.

Where do you live as it will make it easier for others to suggest one in right price range. $USD 700 not same value as $AUD 700 would be, for instance.

Linus tech tips and and some other content people on YouTube have some really informative videos on monitors in that price area... I would start there.

USA (Texas). I'm sorry I didn't add more info. I'm looking for a monitor, nothing with add on ports, or some other type
of connection. Not a monitor with a lot of connections that I'll never use! I would like to get a 1 ms response time
if possible. Does that help?
