I loved the Fallout Tv show!

So I just watched the whole series this morning. Yup it was that kind of day. I must say, i just loved it. The characters, the visuals, the brotherhood powered armor, just everything about it. Why do i like everything about fallout but the games? I honestly don't get it. I want to like them but for some reason the narrative falls short and i get bored. Hell i even liked wasteland 2 and that has far less as far as the world building goes. I even like the fallout world building. Maybe it's too much fighting? Or maybe i just never found interesting stories? Blow up megaton or not blow it up, that is the question (i didn't blow it up in case your wondering) but i never felt like i really needed to choose to do anything. Maybe the game feels aimless? I dunno it's one of life's funny mysteries. For the record, oblivion and Morrowind have the same issue with me and i've been a D&D fan for 40 years, and loved the bioware stuff amoung others. EQ and wow give me the same issues now that i think about it, but i enjoyed D&D online so go figure.

The game actually wowed me for about 10 hours, then sort of neutral for the next 10 and then I lost interest. I tried years later and same thing. Anyone else ever have this issue? Do i need to see a shrink? :p Or is this normal, and my Life is to short to play anything that i don't love for more than long enough to figure out i don't love it? Typically that's about 2 hours, if i make it that far, so by that account 20 means it must of been doing something right, but still it couldn't keep me coming back.

While i guess the game issues may remain a mystery, I can't wait for season 2!

Haven't seen the show, but I loved the first 2 Fallout games (before they were bought by Bethesda). New Vegas was good. 3 was just okay. Couldn't get into 4.

I actually liked Fallout 76 more than 3 or 4. I liked the base building the most.

I want to watch it, but we don't have Amazon Prime and there are a couple of other shows I also still want to watch, so it'll have to wait.

What I do is bounce around the services. Keep it for a month or too, the watch what I want and move on. I want to grab PBS passport next, I want to see some Ken burns docs. Apple and max are do for another spin too.

On a side note, I keep seeing stuff about Lucy saying "Okay Dokey" as some out of the norm statement but I use it a lot and have my whole life to some degree or another. Does that mean I'm actually a vault dweller?

Also liked the series, with the ghoul character being my favorite. As for the games, I enjoyed Fallout 2 and Fallout: New Vegas the most, both with good character builds and some fun dialogue routes. Fallout 4 looks very nice, sounded good, and had cool weapons, but the story and the Minutemen (Kakapo Preston Gravey!) were completely kakapo!

I don't think you need a shrink...yet as long as you say you love Baldur's Gate 3
