I just wanna play the new Halo but cant run it :(

I just bought the Halo Infinite campaign, played the couple first missions with medium (might have been high) setting no problems was getting an okay 60fps but as soon as I got to the open world part of the game my pc said nah man. I cant even get a solid 50fps on low settings anymore. I have and old i7-2600, 16GB of ram, gtx 1070 and some ancient motherboard. Can any of my old parts be used or are they just simply too outdated? and what parts should I get?

Keep the graphics card and get a new board, cpu and RAM.

Good advice from @Why_Me its the CPU holding you back here mostly I'd say. If your PSU is as old as your CPU then you might want to consider a new one of those as well.

Thanks for the advice! Any suggestions for the parts, im trying to get this done pretty cheap but something that would last for a few years? Also how do I know how powerful PSU I need and is it possible to buy a too powerful one?

New motherboard and new PSU and new CPU and new memory... what does the storage look like? Maybe it's time to just drop the whole thing and get a new PC? If you go through stores like Cyberpower and iBuyPower, you can even get a modern graphics card without paying a scalper.

It all depends on the budget, though. That's buying a lot at the same time. I expect the stores have financing, but then you'll be paying even more in the long run.

The case is the SilentiumPC Regnum RG4T, I have a Samsung 1TB 870 QVO SSD and the PSU is SFC Sf-630p12p 630W. I also live in Finland and the current budget is somewhere between 300-500 but if i have to I can spend more. Thanks for the quick answers

Buying a completely new PC just sounds so damn expensive right now... but it is tempting

I think your power supply should be OK wattage-wise but if you're running a 2nd generation I7 I would have thought the connectors would have changed since then. Also, Superflower are a bit of a budget brand. I think the people here would recommend a more reliable power supply manufacturer. I don't know which power supply you would need though for the board in the link above.

Yeah Jimm's is great but the bundle is a bit more than I would have hoped for. The power supply is connected with atx connectors to the motherboard

This board and cpu cooler will allow you to run that cpu with the power limits turned off in the bios. It's a way of o/c these cpu's as it keeps them in turbo boost mode much longer.

No danger if you have a decent cpu cooler and a board with decent VRM's such as that MSI Bazooka. The Asus bundle package is also a good deal but you don't want to turn off the power limits with that board yet you still want an aftermarket cpu cooler.
