Hello and good day everyone,

I want to start building a new PC and would appreciate it if you could help me choose the best parts for my build.
First, let me know if it’s better to get a self-built system or a pre-built one (I am in Germany and not in the US).

My Use Case:
I watch a lot of videos and movies, play games of all kinds (from strategy to FPS to sports), and mostly do coding work that requires some compiling. I also do a bit of video editing as a hobby.

My Note:
I’m a bit lost when it comes to graphics cards (AMD or Nvidia), and for the CPU, I have noted. Please let me know if you think it makes no sense.
For context: my last PC lasted me more than 10 years, and during that time I only upgraded the RAM, GPU, and drives (HDD to SSD).

My Budget:
€2000 and I think it is enough, but I can stretch it up to €2200.

Parts I’m currently considering:

- Motherboard:
"GigaByte X870 Gaming WIFI6" OR "ASUS B850M Max Gaming WiFi"

- CPU:
"AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D" (I know it’s overkill and might bottleneck with my GPU, but I want to keep using it for at least 5–10 years without needing an upgrade.)

- CPU Cooler:
"Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler" OR "Cooler Master Hyper 622 Halo" OR AIO "ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 A-RGB"

- GPU:
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT or Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (If you know which manufacturer is more reliable, or which one to avoid, please let me know. Also, I’d appreciate your recommendation between them.)
Maybe even a 5080 if I find a good deal and can keep it within my budget!

- RAM:
"Corsair Vengeance 32GB Kit DDR5-6000 CL30" OR "Patriot Viper Venom RGB 32GB Kit DDR5-6000 CL30"

- SSD:
"Samsung 990 Evo Plus, 2000 GB, M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD, up to 7250 MB/s read | 6300 MB/s write"

- Power Supply (PSU):
"850W ASUS PRIME Gold AP-850G, ATX 3.0, 92% efficiency, 80 Plus Gold"

- Case:
I don’t really care about aesthetics and prefer to spend more on the components themselves. I just want good airflow and enough space to fit everything without issues.

- Other:
I’ll reuse my current Windows license, mouse, keyboard, speakers, and monitor.

Thank you all

AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D" (I know it’s overkill and might bottleneck with my GPU, but I want to keep using it for at least 5–10 years without needing an upgrade.)
if you get this CPU, you will probably want a X870 board as there are features in its BIOS that assist Dual CCD CPU that aren't in the B850 boards.
That is main reason I have an X870 myself as I was considering a 9950X3D at one stage.

9800x3d might still be a better choice over it for gaming. 8 cores in one CCD is a better choice than 6 for gaming. Now anyway, who can tell for the future but the number is going to increase, not shrink.

If I can reuse motherboard on a future CPU, even better. AMD have been nice the last few generations and allowed you to upgrade CPU without replacing the motherboard - much cheaper than Intel.

I won't really suggest anything else as I don't know the prices there. Someone else will suggest a build later anyway.

Arctic cooler might be best for keeping it cool.
