Hey everyone, I’m very new to the PC world, I know next to nothing but I want to build a gaming PC. I have about a $3500 budget, I prefer to use Amazon to purchase everything. I’d like to be able to game at 240 fps on games like Call of Duty Warzone. I’d like to start right away it also just depends. I believe I’d like to overclock, although I don’t know what it is I heard you need it to game at a high FPS.

Welcome to the forum :)

We have some very knowledgeable people here, who should drop by shortly. Here are a few tips from an amateur to get you started:

A. Use PCpartPicker.com—it'll protect you from choosing incompatible case, motherboard, CPU and RAM.
B. Don't build all in one go—test as early as you can, and 2-3 times more before you tighten all the screws.
C. Keep it as simple as possible first time—if you can skip eg water cooling or fancy stuff like RGB, do so and add them later once your build is working reliably. The fewer variables you have, the easier it is to troubleshoot.
D. Use something anti-static, eg wrist-strap or floor mat.
E. Do whatever you can to minimize heat & dust—heat is THE big enemy, and dust increases it. Keep cables out of the airflow, and make sure your fans are working together, not against each other.

I just noticed that you plan on overclocking so I changed the cpu + cooler in that build up above.

The case for going with an Nvdia card + G-Sync monitor. Warzone takes advantage of both DLSS and Reflex.

Hi Zbritt00,

When I build gaming PCs (on a budget) for clients I will often look at the specification of the games the client wishes to play. Knowing this I can then build a PC that will (at least) meet their current requirements and ideally (budget allowing) see them a few years down the road.

The OP stated CoD Warzone.

I appreciate it!!! It says that I may need to get an adapter for the cooler to fit in the motherboard

Any extra cables or anything like that I may need? I appreciate y’all’s help, it’s pretty overwhelming just searching online.
Nope ... you're all good with that build although I'd suggest spending $10 on this down below for better thermals if you plan on overclocking sometime in the future.

Thermalright LGA1700-BCF 12th CPU Bending Corrector Frame $9.99

Grizzly makes one of those also but at $35 it's a bit of a hose job imo.

So if I order these things I’ll be ready to game? (I’ve already purchased a g-sync compatible monitor). Sorry, just want to be sure. And can somebody verify that they are all compatible?
