Get Best Buy Warranty? (Lenovo Legion 5 Pro)

Hi guys. I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro Laptop that I purchased at my local Best Buy Store. At the time of purchase, I did not get the Geek Squad Protection Warranty, but I have until April 28th to get it if I want to. Thing is, my laptop already has a 1 year Manufacturer Warranty, but I don't really know what all it covers. My question is, should I also get a 1 year Best Buy/Geek Squad Protection Warranty? Or, is only the Manufacturer Warranty all that I need? Thoughts and help appreciated 🙂

The Protection warranty from Best Buy is additional to the manufacturer warranty, it only starts after the Manufacturers ends.

What if I've purchased a Geek Squad Protection Plan and my product fails during the manufacturer's warranty period?

The Geek Squad Protection Plan provides you with benefits that supplement the manufacturer's warranty. Parts and coverage available under the manufacturer's warranty are not covered by the Plan. You can therefore file a claim directly with the manufacturer. If your product is replaced by the manufacturer, your replacement device will continue to be covered by the Plan, but you must contact us to provide the serial number and any other information requested so that we can properly identify the new device as the covered product.

On the other hand, if you first come to Best Buy for a problem covered by the manufacturer's warranty, we may be able to help you, depending on the product and our current arrangement with the manufacturer.

So its up to you if you want to get more time.

I haven't had a laptop but I find hardware (if its faulty) will show signs of that problem within a year or so, so you might not need the extra time. Most of the things I buy tend to at least last a few years.
