Gaming Monitors ideas

Does not surprise me suprise at all. I have seen so much bad packaging; it is just sad. I don't know if it is a lack of intelligence, communication, transport laws or greed. Most likely a combination of them all.

I also want to add that not only is packaging often bad, but some of the people who deliver the package have no clue what they are doing. I watched one guy delivering my PC at winter with ONE HAND, having a hard time walking. I was to baffled to ask him if he needed help, but in retrospect, he would probably have fallen over trying to walk and answer the question at the same time.

Even if that guy had a strict time limit and was understaffed, I still find it very hard to find any good excuse for him doing that. I have worked at some shitty places in my life, but if there is one thing I did have, it was a good work ethic. I would be nice to the customers, even if I wanted to strangle the boss for being a complete ass.

Delivery methods wasn't something I had thought of. Its possible the screens were damaged at that stage.

I know its not all the delivered screens

I think Amazon use a local freight company for delivery, I haven't had many dealings with them (the one Amazon order I have had so far was with them in a previous name) so I just wait and see what arrives.

I am tired of guessing when it is coming. There are only so many times I can get excited... think its soon, look at videos for it... time passes. Tomorrow will be the only Monday in the last 6 I won't look, mainly as its a public holiday. 4 day weekends are annoying when you waiting for freight.... I always seem to do that.

Not many people in the world seem to have it yet, or perhaps they don't make videos about it. The only sign any are being received are the reports of the damages. And they all seem to be US users, so perhaps its something to do with their system there.

this is an indication I am blind more than anything, even with glasses on.

I have had my LG monitor for over 5 years now and after turning it off earlier, I noticed this piece of plastic stuck to its side. I pulled on it to reveal a strip of plastic that ran around all 4 sides of the screen - they were there from when I first got monitor. Wrapping plastic, the peal wasn't very satisfying.

I don't know if I did it intentionally but it sure kept dust off the actual top of the screen all those years. It at least still looks new... front of screen isn't pretty when its off. I can't tell when its on. Black/dark themes hide it well.

Need to make sure to use right cloth on next monitor

30 inch displays could weigh a lot more in the past... 510 pounds?

really prefer what you can get now, even if its not as solidly made.
I have one of the early HD televisions in my bedroom. It doesn't work. I just refuse to try to carry it out. I mean, it's nothing like 510 pounds, but it is probably 100, and it's massive, so you can't get a good hold on it. I haven't watched TV in years, so I just consider it a "retro" decoration.🙂

The whole monitor thing is just insane. I hope it arrives for you soon.

I can remember a friend bought parents old tv and tried to carry it by himself and dropped it, broke a foot off I think. I still wince at the memory.

I don't mind being able to carry my 32 inch monitor in one hand... or I could if the stand didn't need support as well.

One shop has ETA of 30th April. I think it showed that a month ago but I didn't want to believe. Starting to think its right now. It doesn't help no one else is showing a date, not even Asus.

Sick of 2nd guessing.

I think I return to buying things that are already released from now on. This is first time I pre ordered hardware before. Ignore announcements, just buy things that actually exist in stores.

I noticed not long ago that my wife's pre-built PC still had plastic sheets on the glass on two sides. I'm the one who set it up for her (otherwise it would probably still have styrofoam packing inside and be overheating) and didn't notice it at the time.

most cases at least have a sticker or something on the plastic sheets so you can't miss them. I guess that one didn't.

I have seen someone with my GPU in a video who hadn't taken the plastic sheet off their GPU and it was blocking air vents. I wanted to reach into video and point it out.

I should take the fans off my GPU and make sure I removed all the plastic on them. Pretty sure I did. One advantage to magnetic fans. really easy to take out and put on again.

Ordered monitor 7 weeks ago, maybe out in 11 days... maybe. Next Friday will be 2 months exactly.

I used to be excited. Now I have thought it was coming out several times and am wary of getting excited again. It will happen once I get the next email from Amazon. Until then I just wait. And check emails each day.

Its starting to wear me out. See video about new monitors now and think... they exist somewhere. No point watching anything on the one I am waiting for... makes it worse.

At least I have all the cables I need to attach it. They been in a drawer waiting for over a month now
I even moved my room around in anticipation...
I will also be used to having a hidden taskbar on windows by time it arrives.

Hope its worth the wait.

So yesterday I noticed the status of the Amazon page for my monitor had changed to unavailable for pre order, and I read it as meaning it would come out this week

Today I got a message from Amazon saying my account on hold due to a suspicious purchase?
I have only made one order that they had already cancelled two months ago for the same reasons
That was this monitor. I had reordered it the next day and been waiting ever since.

I suspect they have done it again and because the monitor status changed to unavailable again, I bet I can't even order it now. Two months wasted... thanks so much.

3 minutes after putting account on hold, they also confirmed order will be delayed... so its a little confusing, Its unclear which came first.

I want to cry - and those two months back lol

I won't know for sure until Tuesday as Monday is a public Holiday. Email said 24 hours so I check tomorrow, they may work weekends and/or public holidays. 4 day week next week means I probably wait until the following week to order anything new.

I will reconsider what I am doing once I can actually look at my account.
Could have ordered something else months ago. I might still if they cancel this again.

Not sure what to do. If its cancelled again I probably pre order it from shop I got GPU from. Just keep waiting.

Getting sick of this roller coaster.

I hate being right, Amazon unfroze account, wow what a surprise, they cancelled my order again and now the Asus monitor not available again...

I can't even give them a 3rd strike... not that I would get on the roller coaster again. Might just wait for the monitor to actually exist...

I want my two months back.

What the heck is going on? Did you contact customer support to see what the suspicious activity supposedly was? Did you change your password? Unless someone else is messing with your account I don't see how they could decide that purchasing the monitor was suspicious unless the seller marked it that way in order not to have to fulfill the order. Who was the seller? Is it possible that it was the seller that Amazon determined was fraudulent?

I think what happened was that Asus marked the transactions I had made on their monitors as suspect and I had to prove I was the owner of the card.

The only transactions on my account now are the two Monitor orders.

I don't use them very often and had to update the payment details on the account when I made the first purchase. I ordered it on 23rd February, they put my account on hold as soon as I ordered it and I had to I was the owner of the card. It seems as part of that process they cancel the order.
So I ordered it again on the 24th and that order stayed live for the last two months until they put my account on hold again yesterday, and once again

I think its Asus marking the purchase as suspect the second time around. Or they did it to clear the order status. Not sure how it works.

The seller is:
They are the real company

Not wasting time buying off Amazon

I just responded in the other thread. Amazon is dealing with basically an epidemic of fake sellers in Australia, which could also be the problem. They are targeting Australians because Amazon is relatively new there and because Australians expect long shipping times. Sometimes they list themselves as third-party sellers and charge slightly less than the actual seller (the page you are on may be legit, but you picked a lower price seller who wasn't, for instance). Amazon then realizes there is a problem, marks the transactions as suspicious and cancels them.
