found games in client i did not know i had

I just typed in browser .... games similar to xyz ..... i wrote down the names of a few and opened the client , i typed 2 of the titles into the search box and it said " in library " , the thing is that because of what they are i know i never bought them. The 2 titles are not in the list of installed or not installed so i am curious as to how they got their.

After i installed them both they are not even in my games list so i had to go into games files to make a launch short cut

Have you actually tried to launch them? I'm making a guess that it won't let you. Sounds like they were accidentally put in your account and were then revoked. Steam isn't beyond making mistakes. One time I noticed I suddenly had a credit, and I checked my transactions and Steam had refunded a game that I had bought six months before. I hadn't played it so I just took the credit. But my guess is that some customer service rep was trying to do something and put them in your account before realizing they were in the wrong account.

I can use them both i went into both of the games files and made a short cut for the launcher so i dont have to keep opening the files to use the games.

But they aren't showing in your library? Who knows then. I wouldn't worry about it unless you want Valve to take them back. I searched online for other people who had this situation and couldn't find anyone.

You've posted about playing Valheim before here:

And here:

So you must have acquired it somewhere at some point. Maybe your library view has a filter that's hiding some of your games? Or maybe restarting Steam might fix any games that aren't showing up.

Very strange. Maybe you got Deponia from a giveaway at some point? And Valheim didn't get properly deleted from your library? I'm not sure what else it could be.
steam support page says i got deponia in april 2019 so no wonder i cant remember getting it at some point , not sure how i got it because it is not listed in my 2019 purchase/refunds....... Valheim deffo should not be their cos i did get a refund on it , i only found out it was still in library when i decided to re-purchase it

Deponia was given away for free by Humble Bundle in 2019, so that tracks. No idea about Valheim except Steam messing up somehow.

I have games like this, ill be looking in my library and be like "when the heck did i buy/get this game?!". Sometimes i chalk it up to having just added it in with humble bundles, but there are still some mystery games i dont remember getting on steam.

Same here. i find indie games that i don't know where they come from. I'm usually on top of games that get added and normally i would manually categorize them into various lists. Sometimes i find the odd game that i wouldn't normally buy appear in my list. Most of them are of dubious quality.

I'm sure there was an answer, like humble bundles and free keys from various places.
