LMAO, seems as if the only thing I do is watch series.

Babylon 5

Could not get into it. Honestly made me think of the old series named Golden girls. Everything happening in 3 maybe 4 sets and the storyline evolve just around the same characters over and over. I could not even get through season 1. It is however personal opinion, since I heard of many people that actually did like it.

Alien: Earth
Because it is a 2025 series I had to pay to watch it. Must admit that from about episode 3ish, I came to the conclusion that Sci-fi/Fantasy/Horror, has no more story lines. Let's recap....

1. Unusual creatures on an Island
2. Humans trying to control it
3. Creatures escape
4. Creatures kill pretty much everyone
5. Humans prevail

Just described about 10 different movies by just doing a recap on it. That said, Alien: Earth was actually pretty good. If I remove the "repeated" storyline of several movies and series, then Alien: Earth would be in my top 10 listing. Various twists in the story as well as how things all work out in the end, is sort off a win since it is what you hope for would happen somewhere in between. Waiting for the new season and would pay for it. Hopefully as good as the 1st season.

GenV
This one was suggested to me by one of my students. First episode drew me in immediately but do not think it was due to the actual series. About 3 maybe 2 years ago I listened to podcasts a lot. One specific was a book named Vampire suite (Or think it was called that) Was all about this boy that was able to manipulate blood and use it as weapons. In GenV the main character can do exactly that. Think somewhere in my head I combined the two and just took it as another 2 books of that podcast series.

That said, had several giggles in it (Especially with Little Cricket) and overall liked the series. Not sure if there will be a season 3, but they stopped on a cliffhanger (Or a position to continue) so it is very possible that there will be another season unless the series got ended.

Now I am back to scratching around looking for something to watch in-between everything.

So i just finished watching another bbc dramaNine bodies in a Mexican Morgue Our story begins when a plane crashes in the mexican jungle. 9 days later the wreckage is discovered and with it 9 dead bodies are placed in the morgue for investigation. The story tells the story of the TEN survivors of the plane crash as they are slowly picked off over the nine days. its a tale of paranoia, distrust and deception as each person has no choice but to trust each other to survive in the jungle knowing that one of them is killing them off one by one. Who among the ten is the murderer and just as importantly why?

its not the longest story and for the most part you're left guessing who and why. The good news is that the is a logical reason behind it. The ending is a bit weak though ending on a slight cliff hanger for a possible second series. Although where it would go remains to be seen.

Right now I am watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a series based on the novels by George R.R Martins and taking place roughly 100 years before Game Of Thrones. It's a story about Sir Duncan and his squire, Egg.

Three episodes so far and while they unfortunately are a bit short, they are packed with stunning scenery and both funny and wholesome acting. It has a nice balance between humor and a more serious undertone as Sir Duncan tries to make his way into his first jousting competition with the help of his squire. It has a more focus on lingering camera shots making you enjoy the different scenes a bit longer, and I think it works well. Dialogue is great and I like both Duncan and Egg, they got a nice synergy going on.

After watching the first episodes, I would score all episodes with a solid 8.

its been a while since i've added a post here, but i recently had time to watch some more drama, this time its both seasons of critically acclaimed drama/thriller The night manager.

The story revolves around Jonathan pine (Tom hiddleston) a night manager for a luxury hotel in Egypt during the uprisings. its here he gets caught up with Richard roper's mistress and its not long before pine discovers
dirty dealings with illegal weapons and shady dealings in connection with Richard Roper (hugh laurie), an influential British business man who secretly deals in illegal arms trading. it ends in tragedy, that scars Pine and a deep hatred for Richard roper.

A few years pass and Jonathan pine works as night manager in a sky resort in Switzerland. Its here that Pine has a chance encounter with Richard Roper himself. Pine seeks revenge and its not long Pine infiltrates Ropers inner circle in the hopes to thawrt Richard's latest arms deal and bring the man to justice.

Season 2 takes place several years after the first season. Jonathan pine is now working in MI5 night owls unit under a new identity gathering intelligence on suspects. A chance encounter with one of Ropers former mercs sparks something in pine that makes him over step his authority to gather information. When the unsanctioned operation results in disaster, pine goes even further off the grid gathering what allies he has to infiltrate a columbian businessman's operation. its not long another arms deal is taking place to disablize columbia with british intelligence bankrolling and providing weapons for the coup and even worse Richard roper isn't dead....

overall i enjoyed the series, the second season, you might argue is a rehash of the first one: infiltrate business, masquarade as some he isn't and try to bring the whole thing down from the inside. But strong performances and a tense thriller full of ups and downs makes it a jolly good watch. How Season 2 ends easily leaves opportunity for a season 3.
