Dead in antares demo dropped

So i really enjoyed dead in bermuda and vinland and now the demo of the 3rd dropped the other day and saw no mention of it on pcg, (maybe they did and i missed it) so i thought i would let folks know its out.

Its just a little pre alpha thing, that is missing the relationship aspecs too but its nice to see the starting point. No clue if this is just an early build and its coming soon or if its s long way off.

But if you like survival, stories, management and sci fi you might enjoy. Dead in vinland was awesome if you like a challenge, so id highly recommend it if you like the darker times of mid-evil life. This one feels a bit lighter so that could be nice. Besides, the color pallet is very soothing.

Enjoy

DiV is just difficult. Id highly suggest if you just want the story and have fun, play easy and even that fan be a bit of a challenge. Normal will take many tries though unlike some guides say you dont need to save scum, but you have to be very on top of things and willing to change strategies at a moments notice due to rng events. Like it rains for 5 days strait your going to have to change up your entire stategy. It took me 5 tries and about 125 hours to beat and honestly it was one of the most saticfying "i beat the game" feeling since i "flipped" donkey kong in '84. ;)

Dead in bermuda only took 3 and about 30 hours by comparison. Its a great little game but no where as deep, but still challenging, easy is worth playing on this one too.

Still even on easy it tells a great story, but don't play iron man. There are game over events you can avoid with loading a save, so id suggest playing with it off.

That said, i noticed last spell but have basically zero knowledge of the game. It looked like a more traditional rpg grom the screen shot i saw, but that's as far as i got. Any thoughts on the game you'd like to pass on? And seeing how much i enjoyed the dead games, maybe id enjoy it too, but what about it gives it such high marks from you? Anything you'd like to add about it?

I got to a point in Dead In Vinland where something happened that I felt I would have had to know was coming beforehand to counter. Thats all I remember other than I played 15 hours or something 3 or 4 years ago maybe. It was pretty fun anyway.

The Last Spell isnt really like anything else. Its a turn based tile based, kind of tower defence tactics game with rogue liek elements. There a day night cycle where monsters come at night and try to destroy your town centre and you build towers and walls to defend it as well as having hero units to fight with.

You equip the heroes and they level up by killing monsters, theres a lot of different stats and every time they gain a level there an option to pick one of 3 RNG generated abilty point upgrades. So you kind of have to wing it because you might not always get exactly what you want. There also a perk system similar to Battle Brothers which let you build them out in a lot of different ways. Moveset is determined by the weapon you equip them with, and you have 2 load outs available to quick switch between. The weapon abilities might be AOE in a cross pattern or hit 3 in a line, or hit a single target for high damage, or a lot of other stuff.

Monsters drop weapons, armor and trinkets which give bonuses, or you can buy buildings to generate them during the day time cycle where you get to build the town and walls and level up the heroes.

You dont keep the heroes between runs, and you earn currency as you play so that between runs you can buy bonuses and new ability charms to kind of customize your runs, which is where the roguelike part comes in.

Theres a lot of depth to the character building and so the combat, and it forces you to kind of wing it because you never know exactly what weapons and stuff will drop, or what level up options youll get.
