Everyone getting their controllers ready? Me, I'm ready to make macros for my mouse and tear this joint up.
Had it charged and cleaned since yesterday. It was a bit dusty, don't use it that much anymore.

Funnily enough it's a Starfield branded Xbox Series controller, perhaps the last game I was this hyped for, and the last game I preordered. Good thing it didn't turn out to be a bad omen.

What is odd is that the tag line is different in what you linked than what is showing on the site now. When you posted, it said "The most fascinatingly obtuse game ever" or something like that, now it says (on the site) "The Forza Horizon of Action RPGs". Those two statements are astonishingly different.

You mean the tag line that now says "A game that tries it all, even if it's not always a success."?

Future pet or stew, I dunno. But, I'm keeping it!🙂

I don't really play at night anymore. Finished what I guess is the prologue and will pick it up in the morning.

Default controls seem to be confusing and complicated, so she recommends a controller unless you are willing to go through with rebinding keyboard controls. I wonder how that will work for @Zed Clampet , as I still prefer keyboard as long as the controls work good.
Well, I couldn't get one thing to work at all until I created a macro for it, so I'm at least a little skeptical at this point that its playable with m/kb unless you are willing to make macros. I have no idea why it wouldn't work without the macro. I was standing there hitting the same two things over and over and nothing. Made a macro for it, and it worked instantly. It might have been a timing thing, in that they had to be pressed very nearly simultaneously, and I apparently wasn't doing that, but that's just a guess. Everything else, so far, has felt good except that you move really sluggishly imo.

Alright, then. I'm assuming they have a good reason for rotating those lines, probably something to do with SEO. Maybe search bots think the article has been updated, so it gets ranked higher.

After 5 hours I can definitely say I'm sold. Within those hours I chased cats, used a tree to destroy a bandit camp, swept a chimney, illicitly sold a stolen goat, and much more. The controls are for sure tough, but that's part of the challenge.

Here's some screenies:

Put up a very quick video showing off performance of the game. With FSR 4.1 it runs very great for a midrange PC at 1080p. I averaged around 70-75FPS, going down to about 60 in heavily populated areas then up to 80 and beyond in the wilderness and open areas.

No stutters or glitches, but there is lots of pop-ins, mostly debris/foliage. In one review I read it is apparently an intentional trade off to not have stutters. I would say I prefer the way it is, stutters gets very annoying after so long.
