I thought you lived in or near Sydney? Not exactly a dull place, since it's one of the if not the biggest tourist attractions in the country. Granted, the prices I've seen on visiting some of it's sites are not cheap, but even the harbor tour looks interesting, and the price I saw on it just now is 23 dollars. Not sure if that's USD or AUD though.

I live in the capital of Australia, its a planned city that wasn't much more than a village when made the capital and didn't really start to develop into a city in the last 60 years or so.
its really boring here, until the internet showed up there was nothing to do... I expect people found something other than work to fill in their time. But as you pointed out, all the fun things are in Sydney. So if I wanted to see any concert, I would have to go there. Rarely anyone would come to us.

We are having Wagyu burgers for lunch. Yes, I know I shouldn't be eating that much fat, but I have hardly eaten anything for awhile now. Also, while the steaks are over $200, the other stuff you do with beef is pretty reasonably priced. For instance, pound of ground Wagyu beef is only about $9, which is essentially the same as the other. I've eaten it one other time, and it does taste differently (in a good way). When my wife has her retreat next month, I may actually get the ribeye

You probably mean they were created by damns, which is how we got all our lakes here in eastern Tennessee, but my grandfather had a lake built on his property in New York. I don't recommend it. For some reason it gradually spread until it was threatening a major highway, and we had to pay (this was after his death) to have it filled in.

Yes, they all have dams. with concrete edges and spillways to make sure they don't spill out uncontrollably.
Might be 6 to 12 weeks more before I can walk without a plastic boot. Based on a Google search. Foot feels fine today, but I slept in a weird angle and my right leg hates me today and is mostly a dead weight... to go along with the boot.

I don't necessarily have strong opinions on touchpads, other than the glass ones are superior. I own a Samsung tablet with a keyboard/trackpad, which has a plastic trackpad and a Surface Go, which is the same size, but has a glass trackpad and you can really feel the difference between them.
Other than that, I switch a lot between the control point on my Thinkpad and the trackpad, just depending on what I'm doing. Sometimes one works better than the other depending on game and general computing task. But I do have a strong opinion that having a control point lends a lot of versatility to a machine, as far as playing games goes. It's the closest thing you can get to having an actual mouse, aside from a physical mouse and I do often prefer to play games with it over attaching a physical mouse, just because it decreases my footprint.
So it's one of the primary reasons I buy Thinkpads.
Anyway, this may not be exactly what you're looking for, but I have one of these and use it on the regular attached to a variety of different devices.
It's gone up in price since this year, used to usually be about $69.99 and it regularly goes in and out of stock, so if you want one, you gotta keep an eye on the page for awhile and buy whenever it does come back. People like to scalp them on eBay.

By the way, I looked up the one you linked on Amazon, and it's a lot more expensive there. It's $114.

I do actually have two of those keyboard/trackpad things that I use with my HTPC and my karaoke PC, they work pretty well. The kids can use them no problem. The touchpad is plastic, so it's a bit crap, but it works well enough for something we only interact with for a few minutes at a time while picking something to watch or sing along to. They're fairly robust as well; my youngest spilled pop all over my HTPC one and I was able to completely disassemble it and run the plastic bits through the dishwasher and now it works great again.
I'm squirreling away money for a Steam controller or two. I like my original ones, but they lack in a few areas that I feel the new one will resolve, given it's basically a Steam Deck without the screen, which is a control scheme I adore. The ability to customize the controls completely is incredibly powerful and not something I want to be without anymore.

I definitely just use AI to answer questions; saves time searching and searching and I like that I can ask it follow-ups.
I'm feeling very tempted to go get a 9070 XT tomorrow. I was doing some math and I think I can straight-up afford it no issue if I sell two tablets I have, as well as swap out my 6650 XT for my current 6700 XT and sell the 6650 XT.
Again, I don't think I really need it, but I'm thinking about the false promise of future-proofing... plus I could upgrade my monitor to 1440p in the future if I was so inclined. But again, I barely use my desktop and even then, the most recent stuff I played (last night) was from 2004 and 2015 respectively...

I don't use AI in general, apart from the google AI summaries, but the questions I ask in Google search aren't pointed at the AI, it just answers.

For the first time in 7 weeks I can take my boot off... to sleep anyway.
I have a month or so to go from not walking on foot at all, to finally not wearing the boot at all.
Doctor couldn't be specific as it depends on my recovery rate. Might be longer...
I took boot off... entire leg feels too light... will take me a while to adjust to that.
Foot not used to touching a solid surface, so pillows are 1st stage... the boots suspend the foot in them so you hardly feel a thing.
I haven't had the socks off for longer than about 2 minutes in the last 7. No cleaning feet.
Toes are sensitive, not sure if the black on my foot is a bruise or just dirt... the white lines are dead skin
the white area on base of foot looked like a blister but I am pretty sure I would feel it. I think its actually just an area that may have worn off via socks rubbing...
I guess I could wash it and find out. Need to soak foot in moisturiser.
Might sleep in boot tonight, foot feels like it needs the protection. But i might sleep better without it...

Feels like a security blanket. I have to walk in it for about two weeks before I think I will be ready to walk without it.

Definitely wash it and I would recommend soaking in Epsom salt too, very good stuff. Keep it good and dry, you def don't want to get an infection. Some good skin lotion though might help with the scaling spots. The dark spot looks like a below skin bruise to me, which is understanding given the trauma your foot bones/tendons in that area have been through.
