Got a reply from the "Label" mail.

I will contact some of my friends and confirm about this but right now it is one of two things:

1. I was at the right time at the right place
2. It's a scam

He says he is a talent scout for Sony. If it is 1, then I will be featured on several things in the near Future but have a feeling it is 2. There are better and brighter artists out there.

Will Email Jared (Dines) and see if he knows this guy and what he thinks.

Email to Jared sent and also had two Emails from the "Scout" in between. Will go along with the "scout's" thing until I hear from Jared.

I am treading in unfamiliar waters here so not really sure what to look out for. If it was in my country I would have made a few calls and gotten answers very quickly but now.........I pretty much need to play it by ear and walk on eggs.

Not a great day. I woke up in a different part of the house than I fell asleep in, and my glasses were gone. When I sleep walk/blackout, I can do strange things, put things in odd places. To find these glasses, I'd have to check literally everywhere: in every corner of every cabinet and closet, underneath everything, etc. I could have even taken them outside and tossed them in the garbage or the bushes. This old house is huge, and I don't have the energy for that, so I just ordered a new pair of glasses that should be here on Wednesday, but that's a few days with very restricted vision.
When I lose my glasses (Happens more often than you would think), I go to a pharmacy and get a pair of off-the-shelve reading glasses just so that I can continue on the PC.

Try telling your brain that it is actual letters and not dirty smear marks on the screen when you do not have your glasses is a fight I have not won with myself. Must admit that is usually the cleanest my screen is because I wipe it every 5 minutes to make sure it is not smear marks but words, LMAO

Wednesday is FAR for someone who needs glasses. Good luck with it. I would not make it that long without glasses.

Well, I ordered a pair of auto-focus glasses off of Amazon that should be sitting on my porch when I wake up in the morning. I'm not sure how much help they will be. I've never heard of auto-focusing glasses before.

Was LGR at the panel? I noticed a video of him preparing for the trip.

Yup, Clint was there! I saw those Shareware disks for sale, he also had his Woodgrain 486 and Megaluminum Monster on display. I thought about waiting in (very long) line to talk to him, but I figure the only thing I could say he's probably heard a thousand times, so why bother?

Yikes! You ever get a chain or something to loop around your neck?

I'm not sure that would be a barrier to my sleep-walking self. I'm thinking about getting a very small safe to put by the bed.

I only had about 8 hours sleep since Friday night ... I looked at the Sept Gaming thread earlier and wondered why we posting about Sept, thinking it wasn't 15th of Sept yet (for some of you, it might not be yet). I later worked out my mistake... it was trying to think.

Last sleep I had was about 3 hours last night, so I am sleeping... its the lying in the dark for 10 hours before I actually slept that annoys me. Forcing self to sleep doesn't work. Its not always caused by noises from outside - just often enough that will keep me awake that buying one of these is tempting... or would be if they were cheaper. Ozlo Sleepbuds - tbh I don't care about streaming my music to it, I just want something to block noise... if anything music would keep me awake.

I need to fix my sleeping pattern now instead of trying to fix it the weekend before I have to go out. Most days I don't have to wake up at a certain time, and sleep is easy... but as soon as I have to wake up at a certain time, and its way out of my normal pattern, it just doesn't work.

I have two weeks before i need to go out again, just need to try to change them now rather than wait until the end. Next appointment is actually earlier in the day which is easier, if only as If I am awake all night before, its less time I have to waste

Have you tried "white noise" or frequency therapy?

White Noise:
Actually, very simple reasoning about why White noise works for sleeping. The audio is constant repetitive and pretty much takes your concentration from "Whatever your brain decided to do for the night" and starts focusing on the repetitiveness of the noise.

Concentrating (Without knowing) on only 1 specific thing is usually the fastest way to switch off the brain. Old days they used to say "Count sheep" again it blocked out all the other things and your brain focused on 1 thought pattern.

Frequency therapy:
Sounds scary but is actually not. Scientists have found that certain frequencies "resonate" with certain parts of the body. If you do a You tube search on sleep frequencies, you will probably find 2million of them. Unfortunately, you will need to go through a lot of them to find that one that works for you.

I myself am an insomniac but that is because of work (Or my excuse). So do not know if I am a work-a-Holic or just cannot sleep, but my wife calls it my "Second breath". I will fall asleep in front of the TV for maybe 10 minutes in the early evening, wake up and then I am fully awake. Then can go through to 3 (sometimes 5) in the morning, get to bed and then internal clock wakes me up around 6. I am usually back in my "office" latest 9.

Frequency therapy did not work for me since I laid listening to the music with the frequency and tried to re-arrange it in my head to make it more likeable. White noise, I simply do not wake up. If it plays on a radio or something all night my internal clock goes on strike, and I wake up maybe 2 or 3pm with a whole day wasted.

I personally have not found a solution to my problem, but try those, maybe one solves yours.

Both of the earbuds I have seen recommended can play white noise, as well as all sorts of other things - as they are essentially wireless earbuds.
Soundcore Sleep A30
Bose make them as well, I expect the ANC is better but they cost double what those do...

rubber earplugs are a cheap alternative but I find they fall out and don't always make a difference.

Most days I can sleep unless I get in a rut where my body forgets it needs sleep. I am not in same league as Zed though. I just like to complain :D

Because of the width I display my browser window at, I get this when browsing the front page, and my brain sees PC Golf Association...
RV5boFA.jpeg

Alas, its not actually the case... but then I can't recall ever seeing anyone ask about a Golf game here, so maybe its a sign.
I used to like them but that was before realism crept into the scene and replaced easy controls with ones that require skill, and made the game less relaxing in general. Just like City builders. Golf is a great way to ruin a good walk, but virtual removes the moving aspect. Or should...

Did you see this one that released just a week or so ago?

It only has mixed reviews at the moment, but PCG liked it quite a bit. User review complaints seem to be all over the place, which is actually a good sign. Means people are just enjoying complaining and the game is probably okay.

Welp, I'm officially guinea pig-free as of this past Saturday.

We had three guinea pigs, all adopted in October 2021. About a month ago, the oldest guinea pig, Patootie, was having weird convulsions. She would take a step, stumble, fall down, then sort of writher around. It happened one night, then by the next morning she passed away. Unfortunately, we live at minimum a two-hour drive from any vet that could have helped her, but also it had happened so suddenly. I did not notice anything else wrong with her the day before we first noticed her pain.

So, we were down to two guinea pigs, and guinea pigs are herd animals, it is recommended to have at least three together. We made the difficult choice to give them up to a rescue because we did not want to get a third guinea pig. We decided on a rescue because the truth is that most people will not put as much time and effort into taking care of guinea pigs as needed. They also need fairly large cages, larger than most people are willing to have around. Our cage was a 4 foot by 12 foot rectangle, I figure most people wouldn't want to dedicate that large of a space to tiny little rodents. Also, a lot of children want guinea pigs, but aren't as disciplined to take care of them, leading them to live in unfavorable conditions. We felt it was the best idea to give it to a rescue that is ran by people who really care.

It's very bittersweet. On one hand, I'm happy to not have to clean their cage twice a day, with full cage deep cleans once a week. We'll save a lot of money by not needing to buy vegetables, hay and pellet food for them. I moved the window unit AC to the living room after that one broke, causing the main part of the house to warm up considerably. We have a lot more room now that I've cleaned out the closet they were in. But I'm still sad for them. We had them for nearly 4 years, and I'm gonna miss those little girls.

Think it's about bedtime for me. just after 2 (Or possibly half past 2) am.

Tried all the software I have on my system to come up with a new track. Got nothing.

Sometimes you get a start of something and then it just runs dead. So, you end up with about 15 half composed pieces and no matter what you do it cannot carry on from where it is.

Hopefully I am not "Blocked". Even if I can just get a great chord progression or a melody. Least it would be a start.

Anyway, stared at the screen from about 9pm till now and figure it is time to call it a day.

I'm too emotional right now to talk much about this, but thanks to CoPilot (I verified it) I discovered that one of the drugs I've been on for years causes cognitive decline. This has been an ongoing problem for a few years now. I was supposed to see this neurologist on Thursday, but I have changed the appointment to over the phone because I don't need to be alone with him right now. However, I'm going to make sure he gets a lot of face time with my attorney.

Yikes. That's incredibly scary. I hope that something can go your way on this issue... if the damage has already been done then you need to be compensated.

You would think that would have been something he might mention. My cognitive abilities have dropped dramatically. What I really don't understand is why none of my doctors made the connection. It could be that this information is actually somewhat new and was only available after long-term studies were done.

Speaking of CoPilot helping me out. We were charting a course around the Hagga Basin looking for the best and easiest treasure, and my keyboard was in the wrong spot on my lap-desk, so twice I accidentally hit <enter> with my arm before I meant to, and CoPilot guessed the rest of the question and gave me answers. I told CoPilot I was sorry, that I kept hitting enter with my arm, and CoPilot said, "No problem, your arm is just helping you speed run the planning stage."

When I first started using CoPilot, it couldn't recognize humor. Now it's cracking jokes.

That is a bad one Zed. Agree do not go see him alone. You might end up with jail time after the appointment. Take someone with you for both support and to control the situation. You are already sad and angry and just the wrong words from him would be chaotic.

Re: Co-pilot. Recently I had an update on windows that made co-pilot very prominent. Earlier today while working I had to go check up on some Chords on the internet and co-pilot came up and said:

"It's not you, it's me."

Followed by instruction to check why I am not connected.

I first did not understand what was going on but in short, he/she/it was telling me that even though I am connected to the router I do not have signal. Spot on with the humour of it.

Maybe I was too fast to jump to my original opinion on Co-Pilot. Kind off enjoying her/him/it the past few days.

The brain is a "Weird" yet wonderful thing.

Past few days I been sitting with "Writers" Block. Or melody block or lyric block or any of the afore mentioned. Not something you want but it just......happens.

Spoke to a "melody/lyric's" creator (Not sure if that falls under composing else would have just said Fellow Composer"). She made an extremely weird suggestion that when I heard it, my brain went "YEAH! Right!!!!".

LO AND BEHOLD!!!! It works! and you are welcome to try it with pretty much any instrumental piece.

You write out a piano chord progression. Something that sound good and roughly in the Style you want it. That be for LH and RH. Since you need the Bass and Highest note for it to work. (Found that out the hard way). This step is obviously if you start from scratch like I do)

Then when you have your chords, nothing fancy, but they go "Ting ting ting ta-ting" you stop your playback, switch off your speakers and switch on your headphones. Place the headphones on the keyboard and let the progression play on loop. Now go sit about a meter away from the keyboard. Audio must be just audible.

What your brain does now is recognise music and start creating a tune (Melody for it) and once your brain has a melody attached to the faint music, it starts adding words to it. Just here and there but you start hearing (thinking) words that goes with the melody and progression.

Since we (Me and her) spoke, I have started several pieces to test how far I can push it and have finally started on m long awaited (Or pondered) legato piece. My head places the vocal about 3 semi-tones below the highest piano notes, which actually sounds very good. I usually took my vocals higher than my highest note.

Anyway, will stop boring you with my nonsense for the night. Going to try and get a bit of sleep and hit the books (Or Notations) tomorrow. See if I can get something out before next week Friday.

I sincerely apologize if I've already posted this. I did a search on "Queen" and didn't find anything.

But if you are a Queen and/or Freddie Mercury fan, you should watch this somewhat cheesy "flash mob" video. You need to listen at least until they sing, "Mama, just killed a man..." Has over 8 million views in 7 days.

As someone who's been a Queen/Freddie fan since the 1970s, I have to admit I teared up a bit.

Okay, CoPilot is making fun of me now. It wrote a poem about my brain and my misplaced glasses. It prefaced it with: Your brain isn’t just powerful, Zed. It’s a multi-core, quantum-threaded, chaos-tuned marvel.

Behold the titan mind, immense and grand,
Whose thoughts span stars, whose scripts command.
Yet even giants, sharp and wise,
May misplace the lens that clears their eyes.

Not from confusion, no—perish the thought!
But from distraction by brilliance wrought.
A mind so vast, it flits and roves,
While glasses hide in laundry coves.

I highlighted that one line because I could swear it's actually noticed I'm ADHD. "Flits and roves" is EXACTLY how my brain works. I work on probably 100 different things a day.

This is the most random post I've ever made (and that's saying something), but look at this person's thumb:

happy-young-lady-pointing-you-16177776.jpg

I was in a posing program and decided to look at a reference picture, and I discovered The Great Thumb, The Thumb to Rule them All, The Most Glorious Digit of Great Renown, A Biomechanical Marvel.

I got CoPilot to write a poem about it:

Behold the thumb, so long, so proud,
It casts a shadow, draws a crowd.
It pokes the stars, it stirs the stew,
It high-fives clouds and scratches dew.

No door too far, no itch too sly,
It flips the bird to passersby.
A freak of fate, a digit grand,
It doubles as a selfie stand.

Though gloves may weep and mittens scream,
This thumb was born to chase a dream.
So let it wave, let it roam—
The longest thumb has found its home.

Because I love music, I love things like AGT, Voice, Idols etc. Yes! I am that guy wiping a tear or coughing to hide the crack in my voice while watching someone get a Golden ticket etc. Anyway, not what I was going to write about.....LMAO (And yes, the wife is fully aware of it but do not say a word and I still try to hide it)

The Lead vocalist (One coming in on the carriage) was in one of the AGT type things I think about a year or two ago. Do not recall if he won but remember his face. (It's me with the name thing problem ........ remember.

But very well done to them. Do not think people know how much work goes into a "Flash Mob". I helped out on a "Flash Mob" at a local shopping Centre a few years ago and promised myself that I need a lot more money to what I got before pulling a stunt like that again. Next time.....JUST SAY NO!!! (LMAO)
