Right, 2 slices of an 18 inch pizza is only slightly smaller than a whole 10 inch one, which is the size of one frozen pizza here (which I'll typically eat in one go).
Frozen pizzas are also 10 inches here. If you get a regular size toaster oven, the 10 inch pizza will fit inside perfectly. Coincidence? No. Proof of a higher power...the marketing department.

Had to do a security reference for a friend. Form full of questions I really didn't have the answers for as I don't give people the 3rd degree about everything they are doing... I don't want others asking me so I return favour.

They would have been better off asking another of his friends but then I don't know who they are. I don't really socialise with him, I just known him a long time.
I am not a nosy person. Most of the time I am not interested to begin with.

Usually there are only a few red flags that they are looking for. "I once had to bail this drunkard out of jail for embezzling $20,000 in drug money from the strip club" is usually a disqualifier.

Had to do this a couple of times for an Air Force friend applying for higher security clearance jobs. Even had to be interviewed in person one time, most of my answers are always, "Not to my knowledge." for a variety of reasons.

Sickness still burning through the household here. I'm better, I think? Very tired, but my voice is still hella raspy and I'll be taking my youngest to the doctor today, since his cough was very aggressive and "barking" last night and still a bit of it this morning. Don't think it'll amount to much of anything, but we'll see.

Finally started pulling the weeds near and in my garden yesterday. Got plenty more to do, but it's nice to begin getting it cleaned-up, even if it's late in the season to be planting any seedlings; I'll probably pick-up some more mature plants when I'm finally ready, so I'll only be a bit behind.

I've got some fairly well-grown tomato plants I needed to get outside and planted, so I was doing that yesterday when I suddenly heard "THUNK...THUNK...THUNK" So I went around the side of the house and Guido was cutting down a dead tree with an axe. I told him the chainsaw was in the shed, and he said the axe was more fun. Wish I could be young enough again for the axe to be more fun. Anyway, I looked at the tree and he was cutting it to fall in the right direction, had a nice little wedge going, but, being a dad, felt compelled to tell him that when it started to fall, he needed to get out of the way even if it was falling in the wrong direction. Don't try to hero a falling tree. I got a nice eyeroll for that, but if I don't assume my children will make mistakes and a tree falls on them, I'd literally never get over it. I think I got this neurotic worrying over my kids from my mother.

It didn't help he asked me to do it the week before I made my PC, so I was distracted and never got around to it. Last Wednesday he said they would call me, and after I spoke them, they were going to call me tomorrow for an hour long call... I said I would try to fill it in this weekend.
As the form only took 30 minutes to fill in, easier than a phone call. I could change some answers that way. And no chance of follow on questions.

Some of the fields wanted an answer in text even when I said No to the answer. So I said Non applicable. Most of it was about private life stuff and I don't know him well enough to answer some of them. Just cause I known him over 30 years doesn't mean I know everything. Not a busy body.

I have this same instinct, also received maternally. Though, my kids are so young, they do make dumb mistakes all the time.

I've been friends with this dude for... 32ish years now? I couldn't tell you much about the inner workings of his life. My wife always mocks me for this, "How's his wife?" I dunno. "How's his kids?" No idea.

I was thinking about this on a long drive the other day, how there's often a difference between male relationships and female relationships. It seems Men's relationships are formed through shared experiences, projects, etc. Women's tend to be more through intimate conversations and dialogue.

This isn't 100% concrete, given I have a close male relationship that shares both the two components and we do discuss our inner lives, as well as more intimate details of our relationships and the like. But this is certainly not the norm, especially amongst my older friendships that were forged in childhood.

Kind of funny 14 second video starring Liam "Psychopath" Doyle (the #1 ranked college baseball pitcher and finalist for college player of the year) and Tony Vitello (the highest paid college baseball coach). They are celebrating winning the regional tournament and advancing to the Super Regional in an attempt to get back to the World Series and defend their title.

By the way, after starting Friday's game and throwing over 100 pitches, Doyle begged to come into this game on Monday when the score was tied 5-5. Wake Forest didn't score another run.

Trying to imagine an 18" Chicago-style deep dish pizza... could I even lift it without risking back strain? I get a 10" and it lasts me 3 days!
I was talking about pizza, not cake.

Cheesy pepperoni, sausage, and garlic cake! Mmmmmm! (Though, mostly I get want amounts to giant pizza crackers. Stupid carbs.)
I actually had a Chicago-style pizza about a month ago for the first time in many years and it was really good. Growing up, we had a restaurant in town that was just called "Chicago" and all they did was pizza, and I remember it as being fantastic. They brought the whole pan contraption to the table, grease trap and all (no one would ever do that now).

I'm about sick of whatever keeps asking me if I want it to write my posts for me. What an idiotic world we're creating.

Yuck.

Chaos reigns at my house still. 5 kids, haven't had much time to do anything, between the general chair and all of us being sick.

But my sister in law did take all the kids out today, so I spent 3 hours doing yard work. Pulling weeds, trimming, mowing and raking up grass left behind by the mower because it was so long and wet.

Not my ideal way to spend 3 hours, but glad it's finished and better to look at.

Edit: just noticed I got 2 years here on the forum. Huh.
