V-Rising: our first time facing Dracula as trio. One by one we die. Seeing how one teammate makes it far as is screaming in terror at bullet hell while we cheer and watch from the grave! That was this week actually. We still have to defeat him, but that experience was fun nonetheless.

my favourite moment is playing cult of the lamb with a friend while another of my friends was waking up( it was a sleepover) confused as to why we were discussing a guy bing addicted to mushrooms at 2 am.

Definitely one of my favorite co-op moments was playing Grounded with a friend of mine and showing him around this base I’d built at night time, when I noticed a wolf spider leg clipping through the wall of the base. Well idk what overcame me but I thought it would be a good idea to fire an arrow at the leg. Needless to say, the wolf spider leapt over the wall and ended up right in the base with us and I will never forget our screams of terror and laughter!

One of my favourite co-op moments was in Portal 2 with a friend where we had to solve puzzles together, creating portals while the other one jumped. Not everything went as planned and we had a lot of laughs.

My favorite moment was playing Bokura with my partner and im talking about all the cute woodland creatures I see while they responded with "what are you talking about?" Living in that 2-3 minute confusion space before realizing we were seeing two completely different things on our screen. Amazing game, highly recommend.

UPDATE - Codes are halfway gone! Click on my profile name to send me a message if you received a duplicate key, so I can replace it for you.

I once read somewhere—on the internet, so it must be true—that your eyes have a thing called 'immune privilege.' In essence, your body's immune system lets your eyes get away with all sorts of stuff because if it behaved normally, causing swelling and/or high temperatures when your eyes got poorly, there's a risk it'd interfere with your vision or damage your eyesight long-term.

Which is cool. Anyway, I mention this because I think even your immune system would have to drop that laissez-faire attitude if you developed Eyes of Hellfire, which is both a painful Biblical curse and a co-op horror videogame out of Blumhouse. You and up to four friends (outrageous; who has four friends?) find yourselves trapped in the headquarters of the Hellfire Club, based on real-life Irish legends of a fancy-yet-sinister secret society, and must explore until you find your way out. Also, don't die. Not dying is a prerequisite to escaping.

Sound interesting? Great, because we've partnered up with Blumhouse to give away 500 (count 'em: 500) codes for Eyes of Hellfire. Between August 29 and September 9, 500 lucky forums users can get their hands on a code for the game. Oh, and fear not: you don't also need four lucky friends to stand a chance of playing—if you own a copy of it on Steam, you can use the Friend's Pass to get your pals in on the action.

To claim your code, start by:

  • Comment in this thread and tell us your favorite co-op moment in gaming history.
  • Follow the instructions in our Gleam widget to claim your code.
    • (Make sure you read the terms and conditions in the Gleam widget, too!)
We only have 500 codes, so don’t wait!

I'm assuming codes have run out by now, but @SHaines some folks aren't able to message you due to (understandable) restrictions on newer accounts if they entered earlier and got a duplicate key. What's the best way to reach out, in those cases?
Anyone who received a duplicate code can say so in this thread and I will message them directly. I've set aside enough codes to cover the number of possible duplicate keys, so no one who posts will be left without.

My favorite is a time where I was playing RoR2 with two buds, me and one other were basically veterans to the game, and the last was fresh meat

Now, due to a mixture of the new guy's luck and generally good skill on me and my other long time RoR2 bud, we made it to the final boss, Mythrix.

He slowly picked us all off until I was the only one left by phase three, the clutch I pulled off was insane, dodging perfectly between his O-KO attacks, and even having my damage nullifying items prok-ing at the perfect moments

RNG sadly wasn't on my side when he got my items, but it was one helluva clutch to be on a quarter health and survive up to the final phase.

I was shaking by the end of it

My favourite moment in coop gaming has to be accidentally sailing off the edge of the world in Valheim with all of our stuff as we 'just wanted to have a look over the edge'. Absolute cinema.

Well both times I did it, Gleam was already at 0 (around 8 pm Eastern second time) - does that count as duplicate? 😆

I'm not sure if Hunt Showdown would really qualify...but me and a buddy spent dozens of hours in that game gunning for survival and watching each others backs against eldritch beasts & other players.
Definitely remember the release of left 4 dead 1 & 2, how it brought forward the whole "4 player squad vs npcs" had alot of fun with friends in that.
And again..not sure if this would count but Divinity: Original Sin. This was before BG3 and I wasn't entirely convinced playing CRPG and/or turned based story driven rpgs would work outside of single player. BG 1 & 2 was janky and didn't really work well playing with others...Divinity though, played an entire campaign with a friend and it changed that perspective. BG3 took it further.

Alrighty, makes sense. I edited my original post to mention the duplicate but I'll mention it again here as well, got a dupe. Thanks for handling this.
(Side note: looks like I can message directly now as well).

Resident Evil 5 or the original Gears of War! Both with my best friend at the time who is now my wife and mother of our 4 kiddos! Man, there's no key moments but we did 100% on both games. So many hours spent searching for collectibles and repeating the same bosses 1000x on the hardest modes until we were dooone. Good times, since then, we've played everything Gears of War together and every RE that had a coop experience plus numerous other coop games but for sure RE and GoW were our sweatiest lol
