Hi all, names Geoff, I know this question will have been asked a hundred or more times but as of now 31/10/2022 what would be a reasonable spec gaming

My little boy is 9 and has a quest 2 which we are going to use Virtual Desktop on. What’s a reasonable spec GPU / CPU etc etc to go for without going nuts! Many thanks - Geoff

What country are you located, what is your budget and what is your monitor resolution or is a monitor to be included in the budget?

Thanks for you’re reply.I’m in the U.K. I was going to use HDMI to a 4K TV but my main thinking was using it with the Quest 2 via PC. My little one is 9 so I don’t want to go nuts with price but don’t want to end up with something that is redundant in a short time frame so with that in mind I would say under £1000

Hi Brian,

thanks for you’re info, looks like a great PC with a great GPU to boot. I use to sell the first mass market PC’s 35 years ago, Amstrads 5.25 disc with no HD and 10MB being the top of the range…..haha! Question is do I have the ability to build one from scratch, what I mean is how difficult is it to do? I’m 20 years out of the electronics market so a little nervous about taking it on?

cheers Geoff

My first PC was an Amstrad I purchased from Costco back in the 80's. Building a PC is akin to putting together Legos. Easy as pie these days especially with all the how to videos on youtube and a lot more difficult to brick a board than it was say 15 years ago.
