Would Asus B150M-Plus motherboard be alright with aintel i3-8100 cpu? They are both socket LGA 1151
Asus B150M-Plus is rated 65w year 2016
Intel i3-8100 8th Gen 3.6Ghz 65w 1volt 2017
(read someone said it topped to 88w at 3.7Ghz)

I did a lot of search but found none listing them together and none saying they'not compatible.

Go to the manufacturers motherboard support page and check under CPU support like above.

It isnt supported 6000 and 7000 series Skylake and Kaby Lake only. The physical socket 1151 was used for several generations by Intel but not all CPUs are supported by the BIOS software.
