anyone played Hades

Run out of things to do on satisfactory so i recently got Hades 1 and 2 at a silly price on steam.
Up to now i have only clocked up 3 hours on Hades 1 but i must have died dozens of times , it is either harder than i expected or this old guy is slowing down.

I died on level 2 but when all the way back to the start and somebody on steam said in rouge type games your supposed to go all the way back to the start ????

That seems a bit dumb to me.

I love Hades. Haven't tried the 2nd one. The point in going back to the beginning is that you have level ups and such that you get to keep which should give you a better chance than in your previous runs.

If you are finding the game too difficult, there is a setting in the game where you get +1 damage resistance every time you die, so you are continually getting capable of taking more damage. I'm one of the many people who use this setting It is a very difficult game.

if you got this far you will know that their are about 5 places to enter the next bit.
The one i chose is bugged their are 2 wooden cones , gems keep dropping and the bit of floor i am on has a broken rail both behind me and in front of me so i cant get to the door.

Never had that one. Might want to reboot your system before starting a new run.

slapped myself in face its not a bug i forgot their is a key defined to shoot yourself forwards

hades series has been on my watch list for some time. i didn't get it this summer simply because i wasn't ready to play it. As others mentioned its a rogue lite, so each time you restart you gain rewards/stats to upgrade. So slowly and surely the odds and difficulty will stack in your favor. Hopefully.

I have a lot of dungeon crawler type games and this is the first one i have seen that some players call rouge like.
Does this mean that all games with the rouge like tab send you back to the start if you die.

Yes, that is one of the main mechanics that makes a game a roguelike. In some of them you don't even get to upgrade anything after you die, you just have to start from the very beginning with nothing to show for it but the skills and knowledge you've gained as a player. The ones where you do get to upgrade in between runs are sometimes called roguelites instead.

Just got through the second run and mr google says rinse and repeat 10 times , i dont think my reflexes will get me to 10. Their is a sort of god mode built in but even with that on it is a very hard game.

I haven't played it but I have watched others. You can make it harder for yourself with all the penalties you can apply before you run game. I think those open up as you progress. The more you play, the more rewards you can open up to make game different such as different weapons from memory.

you can die a lot and get rewarded... expect the damage resistance drops once you escape.
