AMD CPU = go for AMD GPU—or not?

Just curious: total assumption on my part, but shouldn't the AMDs be better suited to each other? So if you're set on one AMD component for some reason, then the other one should be a 'tighter fit' if also from AMD.

Arguably, it doesn't matter. Some might argue for the logic of such a config, but in the end it matters little (or not at all).

If that was true, Intel based rigs would be in real trouble.

This is true. In general though (and overall), it still makes little difference.

Right, the fact they and Nvidia haven't teamed up says you are right.

Nvidia make CPU, Intel make Discrete GPU, they sort of messing in each others areas. AMD just bought ATI so they don't have to worry about those games

It comes down to price point and what games you play imo.

The only real big difference is what tech a game adds. Some add AMD supported tech over Nvidia and vice versa but as far as a CPU and GPU working together, doesnt matter but if i were using an AMD CPU id probalby just go with an AMD gpu for maxim efficiency. Now if youre talking AMD freesync monitors being used with nvidia and vice versa, youll see a bigger difference imo.
