My 4 1/2 year old CyberPower PC is getting slow and it might be time to replace it. My old puter has a FX-6300 AMD processor in it and I really like it (in fact my last 3 or 4 computers have had AMD processors in them). I was thinking of building a system with a AMD Ryzen 5 series (5600X maybe). I'm just wondering what you thoughts on this build might be (like should I go Intel or is the Ryzen 5 good for a casual gamer)? The build will not be done for a few months so I'm not in a big hurry (and the money flow opens up a bit). Or should I just get a prebuilt system (I know it'll cost more)? TIA for your thoughts.

What is your monitor resolution or is that to be included in the budget? This build down below is meant for 1080P.

Right now I plan on using my current monitor. A Dell ST2210, but that may be updated in the future. And thank you for the info Why_Me. I'll take a look at it all (I'm old and slow).

I got a good chance to look things over Why_Me. So ar I like what I see. Of course, I'm still leaning toward a AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor. Your video showed me it and the Intel you showed me are close (the Ryzen might be a bit more $$). And I really like the "package" from Antonline with the video card and other stuff. I never knew about that. So far everything is within my "budget".

So much good stuff from Why_Me above, I don't have much to add in terms of a potential build!

If you want to consider a prebuilt system instead, I've had an eye on this one from Rand's PC Parts for a while and just don't want to pull the trigger anytime soon. But, it's a Ryzen 5 5600x with a RTX 3060

That's one of the few prebuilt sites that list the make & model of the board and psu. ^^

Why_Me will that case you picked for the Intel build you showed me work with a AMD motherboard (B550 or X750)? I would have messaged you but I can't do that yet on here. TIA
