Another couple of questions for the group: 1) Intel says the 10850k only supports dual-channel DDR4-2933 RAM. a) Would I be limited to only 2 sticks of RAM (even though the MB supports 4)? b) Is it still ok to run 3200 or 3600 rated RAM?

One additional question is how important is the PCI-E 4? Am I missing a lot by getting a CPU that does not support it?

Thanks for the reply Brian. Intel is "supposed" to release info on their new CPUs at the end of this month, so good idea to wait and see what they release. In terms of RAM, why is 64gb a waste? I am at 32 GB right now and routinely use most of it.

I think you are just describing a variation of what I was already thinking of doing. I was really just wondering about any compatibility issues that might arise. The only one I can see is that my MB is still DDR3.

I think that a 3070 is the right move. In general when are people expecting more stock to come in?

With all this in mind, assuming I pickup a 3070, would that GPU be able to handle a 4k 144hz monitor? If possible I would like to future proof this a bit even if my monitor is the weakpoint for a time, and I pick one up later once prices drop a little.
