Do you ever miss epic games freebies? Do you care?

They don't have one for Linux. That was the whole premise of my post.

Do you ever miss epic games freebies? Do you care?

Epic's flat refusal to support Linux in any way, along with their generally scummy business practices, has caused me to effectively swear them off completely. Not having a client — even a rudimentary one, as long as it functions properly — for the desktop sector that stands to gain the most in...

    What to upgrade

Thanks for clarifying. Your 14700 is fine, in that case. What settings are you playing on in general? Also, can you give us the exact model of your RAM sticks?

    What to upgrade

Faster RAM is going to give you a serious uplift in performance. 6000MT/s with a CAS latency of 30 is generally considered to be the sweet spot for price-to-performance on both Intel's and AMD's current-gen platforms, so I'd recommend you get a kit at those specs (or higher if you have money to...

AMD Ryzen 7800X3D proposed rig for 4K gaming

NAS is just the product lineup. The drive is 7200 RPM. If that's the only reason, I'd suggest going with SATA SSDs. They're still perfectly fine, especially for your application. They'll saturate a SATA III link easily, and you can get them fairly cheap in higher capacities. That said, HDDs...

Is my PC optimize or unoptimized?

I see. I would still recommend trying to push your XPO speeds. It may be that your RAM simply isn't fast enough for your CPU. I'm genuinely unsure of what else could be causing these specific problems. Maybe your network drivers are out of date since it only happens when playing online? But that...

Question Are there any Retro console fanatics here?

I have my SNES, my Saturn, my PS2 (Slim, fat one died many many moons ago), my GBC, my 360 (fite me on this), and I've got games for all of them. I still haven't gotten a chance to play the Saturn. I got it like 13 years ago!

Is my PC optimize or unoptimized?

Hi, Renzo. Welcome to the club. I've been looking over your list, and I'm wondering, like COL was on TomsHardware, why you chose to go with a 4x16GB RAM kit instead of 2x32GB. On top of that, though, I was wondering why you went with such a slow speed. Zen 4 really likes RAM that runs at 6000...

    Best budget pc?

These parts are solid. The only way to make sure the PC actually works is to assemble it and power it on, but if your question is about compatibility, then these parts are all fully-compatible. You got that. I can tell you it won't be the best video editing machine in the world, but it'll blow...

AMD Ryzen 7800X3D proposed rig for 4K gaming

B-series motherboards tend to be just fine if you don't need some feature that's locked specifically to X-series. I'm not entirely sure how 600-series works in this vein, though. I'd recommend getting the D15 with two fans/getting the second fan if you didn't plan on it. Ryzen 7000 runs hot...

What's the best character class to play in BG3?

I'm a simple man. I roll an 18, I put it in CHR, I pick my starting cantrips and L1 spells, and set off as a Sorcerer.

What's your game reveal prediction for the summer showcase season?

My money's on Microsoft killing more studios, honestly. They've really been raking in those kills this year.

    Help Pc Over heating!

After doing some more reading, I've come to agree with Zed's first reply. It looks like the 7000 series chips are designed to run hot. They target ~95° C as a constant operating temp, so your AIO will let it get about that high before kicking on. You can change this behavior by setting a custom...

I would recommend checking the torque for your cooler. Thumb screws are for convenience. They're not guaranteed to give your optimal torque spec by just screwing them in until you can't do it anymore with your hands. Are the thumb screws not keyed for a screwdriver?

How do you have the radiator oriented in your case? Is it in the top or the front? If it's in the front, are the tubes at the top or bottom of the radiator as you have it installed?
