Question What should I upgrade next?

I currently have a pc that I built for gaming and working with 3D software like Houdini and Cinema 4D.

It's about 4 years old now, and I believe it's about time I start to look at making some upgrades. Upgrades that I want to see me through the next 3-4 years.

I'm just not sure what direction to go. I don't know whether to keep what I have and build a new one from scratch, or upgrade what I have.

My current spec is...

Mobo: Asus X370-F
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU: RTX 2060 (6GB)

I can't afford to go completely high end with anything, but if I choose to upgrade I do want to notice a difference.

I think i'll most likely need a new motherboard, but I can't decide what CPU & GPU I should go for.

Does anybody have any advice for me?

I don't have a set budget to be honest... I get that without a budget the "best" would probably be the most expensive - and I know I can't afford that... But for the same if this thread, what a budget of day £1k get me some upgrades that would be worth while?
