What is a minimum price for a decent pc in your opinion?

I have an old laptop and am considering buying a budget pc for gaming

budget pc? About 5-700 for the tower, not any peripherals. But i would inflate that to maybe 8 or 900 considering the price of gpu's nowadays, unless you find a great deal.
