Of course not, none of this is new. People have been making money in games for at least 15 years—it was, maybe still is, very common in WoW, and very likely all the other MMORPGs also.

Whether the games are any good is down to the qualities of each individual game. If any are not terrible, I'm sure we'll hear about them.
