Easter eggs are fun little nods developers make to their favorite games, or just to show support for gaming in general. Suffice to say, The Witcher 3 is full of them as well. We’ve compiled a list of the subtle nods the game makes to other games in this article.
Here is a list of the best Easter eggs we have compiled that refer other video games:
When Geralt completes the quest ‘Fools God’ in the village of Lurch, a peasant roaming in the vicinity quotes Fallout directly by saying, “War, war never changes.'' It is a direct reference to a very popular dialogue of the Fallout series, Fallout 4 to be specific.
While completing the ‘Fists of Fury’ quest in the Blood and Wine expansion patch, Geralt encounters a man named Mancomb. It is a pun made in reference to Guybrush, protagonist of Monkey Island. Mancomb also looks similar to Guybrush and performs similar feats as him.
Geralt makes a Tomb Raider reference in the mission The Great Escape. This happens when Geralt goes down the well upon getting out of the water and uses his Witcher senses to investigate a skeleton. He says, “Heheh. Tomb raider. Seemed this one killed elven stuff.” Though this could just be another raider too, but the setting makes us think otherwise.
