Steam wants proof of age.

I tried to get the latest update for a game i have already purchased but steam want me to prove i am an adult and whilst i agree with this in principal i am not happy about what they want me to do.

It says to get the content i must submit my credit card details , the thing is i wont be making a purchase and i dont want to leave my account details online in case steam ever gets hacked.

I'm afraid you don't really have a choice here besides not playing the game. Steam has to adhere to local laws, so if you want to complain you'd have to take it up with your government.

I guess i over reacted ... you cant choose NOT to save payment method after a purchase which was my concern but after looking through various settings in my accouint profile i found the section where you can delete payment method
