Hire Steamers?
Ryan Rigney, a consultant to game developers, was asked about the best path for indie game developers? He said that streamer conversion rates are waning, so instead of concentrating on getting influencers to play your game, you should concentrate on gaming Steam's algorithm.

* I had more, but I doubt anyone actually cares about this stuff, and I'm suddenly very sleepy 🙂

i can kind of believe that, the problem is those live service games or comptitive PVP games. Mercifully, i don't play those (it feels like its very repetitive and running circles or on a hamster wheel as i play the same maps endlessly). But then again i play Path of Exile, Doom2 as my go to games everytime. in Valhalla's case, i've been playing since Feb. A quarter of my year dedicated to this game...

I've got games that I put a tremendous amount of time into, but I also have a lot of games that I put less than 20 hours into, so I move from one game to the next pretty quickly since I'm retired and have nothing better to do (or so I tell myself)

Honestly, this kind of post is super interesting—definitely don’t sleep on sharing more when you’re feeling up to it. That stat about players sticking to just 1–3 games a year kinda explains why live-service stuff clings so hard. Also wild how small Xbox’s slice was, but not too surprising lately.

Someone posted about Xbox being largely a Game Pass thing now. Game Pass doesn't seem to have that much influence on PC, though. The two best selling games on Steam recently were both on Game Pass.
