Predict the response to the launch of Light No Fire

On the one hand, Sean Murray isn't running around building up hype for things that won't be in the game. On the other hand, they aren't saying anything about what's in the game, which leaves it up to people's imagination.

My guess is that practically nothing will be in the game at launch other than base building, mounts and some minor fetch quests, and that people will be unhappy, but not as colossally unhappy as they were with No Man's Sky.

This post may be too early and assumes they are going to continue to market it just as a big open world, but we can adjust our guesses once we get to within about a month of release.

I think you're spot on, Zed.

I've got a couple of friends who are filling their pants looking at the trailers; I've been trying to get them to temper their expectations and maybe I'm just a cynic (I am), but they don't believe me that it's likely to be a big wet fart upon launch.

I can't wait for release! I loved No Man's Sky right when it came out, so it's not like a need a whole lot from Hello Games to make me happy.

P.S. It would be the first time I've ever had to chop down a tree to get building material in a game.

Your prediction seems reasonable, as the lack of hype could lead to disappointment if expectations aren't managed. If the game only offers base building, mounts, and some minor quests at launch, players may not be as upset as with No Man's Sky, but will likely still expect more. The post-launch content plan will be key in shaping responses. Writing an expository essay seemed daunting, but Academized’s https://academized.com/buy-expository-essay buy expository essay service made it easy. The writer explained the topic in a way that was both clear and informative, ensuring I understood the material. The essay was logically structured and full of relevant details. It was delivered promptly, and I received positive feedback from my professor. If you’re struggling with an expository essay, I definitely recommend this service!
Let me just say, I'm so thrilled to see races other than elves and dwarves. It's so refreshing.

Edit: Also, so many get so upset when people call a wyvern a dragon yet when i finally looked it up i found that a wyvern is a type of dragon. Theres different types of dragons and a wyvern is one type. Which means it is a dragon.

I honestly haven't researched the historicity of the word, but while it's clumped in with dragons in the modern age, I refuse to believe they are dragons. I always believed wyverns to be nothing more than winged beasts that kinda look like dragons. No breath weapon. No magical abilities. Animal intelligence. So I am kinda one that would disagree with you on that, but just as debate and discussion.

Seeing as wyverns, drakes, and dragons are all mythical creatures the argument is pointless as they can be interpreted as you please (but they are definitely NOT dragons 😉)

Wyvern is a Draconid type and a lesser dragon. It has fewer legs and not as strong or smart. At least in games and DND rules, they are seen as something completely different.

My own take is that a dragon is a pure breed, while a Wyern is a crossbreed, even if that does not align with most lore. I look at the Wyvern as less intelligent and primitive, not capable of reasoning like a dragon would or could depending on the type of dragon.

Additional info from Witcher 3 bestiary:

"Wyverns are often mistaken for dragons, and, though they are much smaller than their more famous kin and do not breathe fire, they are likewise extremely dangerous monsters. Especially feared are the so-called royal wyverns who, like their namesake monarchs, are exceptionally ornery and extremely deadly."

"Most dangerous of all are the royal wyverns. Or, as they're called in some circles, the royal pains in the arse." - Albino Tottelkampf, lecturer in natural sciences at Aretuza (Witcher 3)

I wonder if @Colif has dragons or wyverns where he lives.
