Hi all, I'm completely new to gaming on pc. I've been gaming since the 80's. Started with a c64, then PS1, 2,4,5. Then I bought my first pc this year. I bought a cyberpowersystem.co.uk pc, custom. Msi board, intel I7 14th, with rtx 4070 super. With a Gawfolk GF320G monitor. I have 64gb ram, and 1tb memory(or the other way around 😬). I'm using steam for my games, and just started playing ffxvi. But I'm having trouble with the picture, it looks washed out. I've tried altering the brightness balancing on the game and the monitor but just can't get a great picture. I've also noticed it on resident evil 7. Although it seems ok on forza motorsport. I get 144fps on res7, but only 60fps on the other 2 games. I'm not very technical with pc's, but if someone could help me set it up I would be really grateful. Cheers. Wayne.

Welcome to the forum! Never too late to jump into pc gaming!

As for your problem. Turn off HDR in the games that look washed-out, see if that helps. In the games that only go to 60fps, it might either be A. They are capped at 60 fps on PC or B. you have V-SYNC on in the graphics/display settings. Turn that off if its on.
