Modding and antivirus

This may not even be the right place to post such a question…but I’m a total noob when it comes to this stuff.
How does virus protection work nowadays? And how does it affect modding?
All the parts for my first rig are here and now I’m just trying to figure out exactly what to do *after* it’s built…?

if you have win 10 or 11, they come with windows defender which should stay out of the way of any modding unless it becomes infected with a virus.

You shouldn't need to do anything after its built.

How does virus protection work nowadays?

Varies by the app(s) you use and the functions you enable of course, but simple generality:
1. It's either real-time or not—'not' meaning it'll periodically scan your system, rather than checking software activities as they happen.
2. Your app should download a new 'set' of checking info each day, so it's always up-to-date with the latest threats.

how does it affect modding?

I can't prove a negative of course, but shouldn't have any effect.
