I played and ranked Steam games that no one was playing!

I think he probably just means anything without a bunch of reviews, which would probably include most of the things I play.

how big does a game need to be before its no longer unpopular? There are probably too many games to count that are just on the brink of crossing the line. that don't have any reviews...

Only time I take popularity of a game into account is if its something I might want to play and is online only and other people might get in my way of playing... and I might avoid those for a while. I play games if they look like fun, I don't really take into account what others are doing.

And we are all different, what Zed finds fun might not be to someone else... (just using him as an example) so he might suggest something, you play it and don't have any fun.

grim fandango. Never seen anyone write up about it.

That's a classic of the adventure genre, I wouldn't argue with anyone claiming it's the best adventure ever made. It was written up all over the place 'back then', it vied with half Life for GotY—not surprising, being from LucasArts in their prime and with Tim Schafer on point.
