How much fun is leveling to you (where you have to pick skills and such)?

It's all about the pacing of it for me. I enjoy leveling up and being able to gain new skills and abilities, but if it happens too slow or too fast, I get annoyed with it.

I like to feel my character gradually getting stronger and better, while not getting overwhelmed with a large amount of new stuff I have to learn relatively quickly. MMO's do this the worst in my opinion, typically you are constantly getting a brand new ability or passive every time you level up, then you have to remember to use and get good using them really fast at the beginning of playing. I want it to feel incremental yet not dragging.

Sometimes I want to level up faster for the fun of it. In Bethesda RPG's you can usually find mods that increase your XP, but the one I like the most is giving you two perk points instead of one every other level up. You gain perks faster, but it's still incremental enough to not make you feel like an invincible god by level 15.

Another "depends on the game" answer for this one.

The progression in oblivion and now this Tainted Grail where you can level skills just by jumping moving and running is a way more fun system than hitting a number and doling out points to me. But if the game makes me feel like i leveled into a whole new person with inputting points, where if im in an area and i level up, i can see im killing more enemies at once (diablo/poe) etc. its more fun to level that way, for me, in those games.
