I am preparing to buy my first gaming PC. My ideal price range is three hundred to seven hundred dollars. (You may suggest more expensive items; I will also need a keyboard and a mouse.) I will probably use the computer for older RTS games (SC II, Dawn of War, perhaps some of the flavors of Total War ) and not much else.

I know absolutely nothing about computers, so here are a few basic questions. What should I pay attention to when comparing devices? Are either of these options good for my needs?

2tb ssd for storage.

Have you looked at steam deck?

Computer I: Acer Nitro 5 AN515. Computer II: ASUS 2023 Vivobook 15 Laptop, Intel Core i3 1215.

there appears to be several models of that Acer, all starting with AN515, but have numbers after.

what CPU does it have in it?

its an english website, forums just think its German...

it shows varying ram amounts so I would see how much it has.
Seems 1tb storage most you would get.

I am not sure how well the graphics in that would go in games

only runs off the CPU

based on that alone I would look at Nitro as it is likely to have an Nvidia gpu in it. Better choice.
