Gaming APIs or websites which can connect to gaming profiles?

What popular games have APIs or is there a website where I can connect popular games?

I basically want public gaming stats individual players for poplar games.

Is there a way to do this?

For example, me and my friends can view each others progress in different games?

I know there's some sort of Steam API. Though you can see you and your friends' progress in the Activity tab pretty well if the game has achievements.

I'm looking for crossplatform, one website, or several APIs, so I can set it up to see multiple games in one place.
