Question Focus 2 or Meshify 2 ?

Hi there !
I want to build my first pc in 2 months, I have a budget of 1500-1700€, I think It is going to have an i5 12400f and an rx 6950xt.
For the case I hesitate with the Fractal Meshify 2 or the Focus 2, which one should I choose ??
Also, if you can help me choose my other components it would be great !

Between those two cases I think its more a matter of which one you prefer the look of.

If you could tell us exactly which country in Europe youre in, and if it matters to you links to the shops you would like to use that would help too.

I am from France and I have several possibilities:
-buy from Amazon
-buy in an other website but I don’t really know which are secure
-buy the whole pc on MemoryPC
Even for the look I am hesitating 😭, also the Fractal pop air xl is nice, you can suggest me somes cases that you like !

I have the Fractal North with the mesh side panel, fell in love with it when I saw it. It really is up to you to decide.

Heres a potential build for you, if you wanted to push for closer to 1700, you could swap in an RTX 4070 instead. Others here may have ideas here as well, I havent been following parts as closely as some do, but this has good quality components and would do well. You may need to pick up a case fan or two extra, Arctic F series are good and cheap. As for RGB I dont really know as its not my thing, but most major brands are probably OK.

The case really is a matter of personal taste when we are talking about Fractals range, just read some reviews look at pics and choose. Nothing to stop you changing it later on if something new interests you.

Ok it seems good, but the video card is an 6750xt and not a 6950xt unfortunately

If you go with the Focus 2 then make sure to add this fan to the back of that case for a rear exhaust fan.

has more drive bays,
allows for longer GPU (491mm compared to 405mm),
allows longer PSU,
has more fan mounts on:

• Front: (3 x 120mm on front compared to only 2)
• Rear: allows the use of 140mm exhaust fans on rear, the focus only allows 120mm
• Top: 3 x 120mm or 140mm vs 2 of either on Focus
• Bottom: 2 x 120mm or 140mm vs none on Focus 2

includes 3 fans - they aren't bad fans, I used mine for about 18 months before replacing them.

Meshify 2 GPU length depends on layout, if you include drive cages in top its only 298mm

I might be biased owning a Meshify S2 but all of that makes me think I would get that over a Focus. If choosing from both... if I was making a PC now I would have a hard time ignoring https://www.fractal-design.com/products/cases/torrent/torrent/white-rgb-tg-clear-tint/ though maybe not in white. Insane cooling case.

How long is the 6950xt?

According to Techpowerup this is a 340mm 6950 so I think most Mid Tower Fractal cases will fit it.

The compact Fractal cases won't fit it. You need a full length case. If I had got a Meshify C I wouldn't be able to fit my GPU in it. I doubt the torrent Nano could fit one.

Meshify C only fits 315mm cards, huh.

Not surprised at Torrent Nano, its an ITX case, but the Meshify C is supposed to be a mid tower.

Focus 2 takes up to 400mm anyway. The North is a pretty short case and fits up to 355, Meshify must be tiny.

the compact was indeed small

My GPU is 331mm - You might be able to squeeze one in. If you took front fan off. I have seen people with 4080 in them, its really tight. I prefer gaps between the walls of cases and things inside.

i still have breathing space even with a front mounted AIO

I can remember being criticised for my case being too big after I got PC and was showing photos. With my 2070 Super in it, It did look empty. I still have about 5 CM of gap between GPU & Fans though.
