Fallout - Anyone remember a location dealing with food preservatives?

A friend got done watching Fallout, but has never played any of the games. They were asking where the food in the Vault came from and I just said they have super preservatives. I seem to remember a location in F3/NV/4 that either dealt with developing food preservatives or mentioned them. Does that ring a bell for anyone? I can't recall where it could be, or which game.

I think that was where they were canning meat. I'm thinking there's a location where they either were developing food preservatives or there was a computer that mentions it. It's been a while, so I can't remember.
