Question Bin file fails to extract

Status
Not open for further replies.
I have a compressed bin file. I tried different ways to extract it: winrar, 7zip, file explorer's inbuilt extract option. But it fails all the time, displaying different error message: checksum error, archive is corrupt, etc
Solutions please

Welcome to the forum 🙂

Is there a CUE file in the same folder as the BIN file? BINs usually need a CUE to function properly.

If there isn't, make a copy of the BIN and change the BIN extension to ISO and see if you can open that. They're very similar files, but ISO is self-contained—ie doesn't need the CUE sidekick. Long shot, but possible the file was wrongly named.

Sorry I don't know what's a Cue file. What's it?
I have several files in a compressed zip folder. I want to extract the bin file alone
