About to build a new PC for Gaming. Asking if it makes sense to build now or wait for RTX 50 Series and new AMD X3D CPUs. Budget 2500€ - 2800€.

Hi guys, new here and I need some help.

I need a new PC because mine is kinda dying.

I7 6700K + RTX 2070 Super on a 3440x1440 Ultrawide.
Games that are a bit more CPU heavy don't even load anymore. For example Baldur's Gate 3. Games like Forza Horizon 5 still work.

Now to my question.
If I'd build a PC now, it would be a Ryzen 7 7800 X3D + RTX4080/90 and 32GB RAM 6000Mhz CL30. PSU would be 850W-1000W

Does it make sense to buy this setup or to wait for the new AMD X3D CPUs and RTX50 Series?

Thanks in Advance

7800x3D will still be the go to gaming cpu after this next release from what I've read.

So according to rumours the AMD 9000 series non X3D models will not be significantly faster than the current 7000 series X3D for gaming. Also last I heard 5000 series Nvidia will probably be next year, with the possibility of the 5090 only by the end of this year.

If your current rig cant play anything, then I would just build with whats available now. Theres always something faster in the pipeline, and what you have wont get any slower because something new released.
So building one now would make sense and the new combo shouldn't be much stronger if we go by the info we have now.

I would just build now if you need it. Waiting 6/10 months doesnt make sense to me if you have to go without in the meantime. If your worried about the 5000 series being that much faster then stick with the 2070 for now, it will play everything out and most games at decent settings still.
