Is a Wacom tablet a critical requirement to get good at Zbrush?

I've dealt with 3D modelling in an AutoDesk sponsored studio back in 2007 and the simple answer is yes, it's highly recommended. In fact it's listed in their required hardware list. It's so that you have a greater degree of control. Without it, you might learn the hard way that MS's Paint would be translated on Zbrush when using a regular or even a high end mouse.
