Hi. I have a question regarding the size of the monitor, specifically 27”. I think there are a few ppl with 27” monitor. I've owned it for about a year and a half and I'm not sure if 27 inches is already too small. I sit about 50cm away from the monitor. Secondly, the monitor is only 2560x1440, which isn't as good as 3440x1440 or even 4K. That must be miles ahead. I only own a single 27-inch monitor. I'm not sure if this size is really too small nowadays.
Also I am thinking about OLED 34” 3440x1440 but I really worried about burn-in.

If you game then make sure you have a strong enough gpu to handle 4K. Otherwise 1440P is an excellent resolution.

Hello. How much performance will I lose when I switch to 3440x1440? Currently, I'm on 2560x1440. Surely, 3440x1440 is more demanding than the standard QHD, and I think it will be noteciable, right?

do you get much use out of the 64gb of ram yet? Most I ever used is 20gb and that is if I run a Win 10 Virtual Machine at the same time...

We need new terms for monitor descriptions... UWQHD is getting a little silly. Especially once they release UW 4k screens. Too hard to work out what is what.

QHD = 4 x 720p... 2560 x1440
4k = 4 x 1080p ... 3840 x 2160
now we go wide...
UW QHD = 3440x1440
UW 4k? No idea really as I don't think any announced yet. Studio 4k monitors max out at 4096 pixels currently
Can they let HD go... can we start again before we get 8k and its variants

ignores Apple 5k monitors.
looks at DQHD with disdain... Samsung aren't helping here.
I would need a new everything to use that.

Hi, ppl! Who use the RTX 4080 with UWQHD (3440x1440)? I posted there many times about monitor’s, so sorry for that. I own actually a 27” IPS QHD monitor. I wanted to go for the 27” OLED again, but many people told me that a 34” UWQHD OLED is more immersive. So, I ordered the Dell AW3423DWF. However I'm not sure if I made the right decision. I'm mainly concerned about losing performance because I was on a vanilla QHD. I'm not sure if the 4080 can handle 3440x1440. Does anyone have a 4080 and UWQHD? How does this GPU handle it? Is it true that it's better to go with a 34” UW OLED rather than an OLED 27”?

Someone asked a similar question here recently and answer was a 4080 should be fine on an ultra wide. Its only if you got 4k that its a question if you need a 4090. That is the answer I would have given after looking for other responses to same question on internet.

Nevermind, I see it was you who asked. If you want a larger audience, try https://forums.tomshardware.com/forums/displays.10/

My last 27 inch monitor was 4k and its too small for them. I have a 32inch 1440p screen now, it took me a while to adjust to all the extra screen size. in some ways I never have, never run browsers in full screen and seem to always have the viewing window on same side of screen. I just run two apps side by side instead. Bigger screens gives more room to move.

Your 4080 should be sufficient to drive your new display well. You may need to tweak settings for optimal use.

Seems you are more worried about buyer's remorse, than the actual performance. Should be fine.
