    Back-Catalogue of Games.

If Johnway just tries the game real quick and moves on, it makes all my achievements look rarer. I heartily approve of this approach! ;)

There is an elephant in the room. It has a nuke strapped to it.

If it ever gets to be too much for Steam, they've got a real simple solution: charge $10,000 to post your game. That will drop the number of games showing up. Once they catch up, they can drop the price down to $1000 per game to keep it sane long term.

PCG Article Discussion for April 2026

Errr, release on Steam how? As stand-alone games or games you play via s&box? (I.E. is the crazy flood of games coming in about to get 10 times worse?)

    Your favourite (euro)jank games

I never played the first one, but Gothic 2 was pretty good. It was QUITE hard - I had to tone it down to 'easy' to make much progress. There was also some serious jank, like the time I found I could stand on a ramp up to a castle and shoot orcs all day because they had no idea how to come up...

Should a developer keep adding new content to an old game after they release a sequel?

But it has to, unless there is no new development to take from. There are only so many developers and testers in a company and, if they are working on putting a patch on an old game, they aren't working on the new one. Sometimes it can be pretty easy, though. If the new and old games are...

General Game Discussion for March 2026

Ha! I'm getting somewhere in Outward. There's a little castle full of ghosts, which drop mana stones, which I can easily turn into fire stones, which let me cast fireballs. I think I'll back up my save, toss a bunch around to practice, then restore it. (Outward is supposed to be one of those...

    Back-Catalogue of Games.

I don't have much of a backlog. (Well, OK, I guess you could say I have one on GOG, but those are more like keepsakes than games I expect to play in most cases.) How do I do it? Easy. I only buy enough games to get me through to the next big sale. I might miss by a few games, but then I...

A holodeck would be the ultimate video game console, but...

Why limit myself to just one?? Load me into a dozen. Have the order of games altered so we can see which order works out best. Then load lots and lots of me's into lots and lots of virtual machines, going through all those games in optimal order, having all that fun! Oh - and then all the...

    Your favourite (euro)jank games

Two Worlds 2 also did something funky with 3D Vision. They made the entire game pop out of the screen. Instead of the far distance basically making your eyes parallel, it put it at screen depth. It was like the entire world existing between you and your screen. It should have felt like I was...
