I'd be a viking settler. Work on finding a warmer homeland with lush fields. Maybe setup new villages down through France and get some picturesque fishing spots with white sand beaches.

I'd head down to the local marina, and steal my family a nice big boat. Pack it with as much food as possible, then sit off the coast to avoid the craziness. Spend the days fishing, and if supplies start getting low then raid the beach front convenience stores.

I have a fairly average office chair, plastic arms and not a lot of padding. It does the job but its nothing special. I wouldn't say I love or hate it, its okay.
To my mind it has always been the ability to define your role. Adventure games like AC and RDR have no character creation, so you do not select a role to play.
I'm going old school and saying Populous. Made by the legends at Bullfrog back in '89, it was an RTS before the genre existed, created the god game genre and had gameplay and graphics that amazed considering the hardware limitations of the day.
